Thanks Grace. I usually wait for sales. I knew that it either had to be one of the pattern companies, but I just didn't know which one.

I know, I can't WAIT to have fun with these, I've got some 'cowboy/cowgirl' patches of material and lots of denim I'd like to experiment with. And the girly calico will be lovely as well. I really want to have some fun with this, as you are right, the pattern DOES look very easy! And I have a feeling the my hubby is buying me a sewing machine this year....this could get a little crazy!

Grace,
My dear, you lead a blessed life! I loved your blog...surrounded by family, farm friends, beautiful self-created things and a little farm. I pray I'm at that point some day too...but then, I feel that I'm just getting started!

Thanks for sending me your blog link. And last but not least, the aprons are very beautiful.

Oh Carrie, never let loose of your dreams,,,,whether they be of a little farm, or a sweet kitchen window with a geranium plant. For dreams give us hope.
My hubby and I had always wanted to own property, to play in the dirt,,,,and here we are nearly 37 years later, we own our very own piece of land here in WA, as well as AZ & FL....we have fun trying to grow anything that will sprout up! lol! And are moving forward to the next phase of our lives.....and yet we try to stay grounded & hopefully humble. We love our family and are greatful for our friends.
hugz & farmgirl friendship,

Thank you for your kind and encouraging words, Grace! Do you know that I come from a childhood where I had 4000 (that's right, I said four thousand!) acres to play around with, huge gardens and my very own horse and I didn't realize what I had at the time! Now I live in the city and study law. How about that for polar opposites? But my sweet husband and I are looking for an acreage outside the city...that is our dream - to have a little dirt to play in. I know that even now, I am extremely blessed and I am VERY grateful for what I have...and it is a long list, however the farm has never left my blood. In the meantime, my little dreams are alive in baking, living organically as possible, watching my plants grow, gathering material and lace for yes, my little vintage apron! May you be blessed as you move on to the next phase of your life Grace. Your words have helped ME to stay grounded!!

As an aside, here is a sample of material for my apron...

Carrie: great choices for your "victorian" farmgirl aprons. There is a little bit of romance in all of us. As for your dream to live on the farm.....Keep your dream and it will come true!

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I can always count on that at this page.

Well I have some excellent news. My darling husband is encouraging me to take some sewing classes at "Quilter's Dream" shop here in town...I know I spoke of this earlier in my original messages here, but there's been an update. He wants to buy me a sewing machine for Chanukah...glory be! I am so excited now, I can't concentrate on my midterm studies!! The reason he's sending me off to classes, is not only to learn all about machine sewing, but to try out different machines and take some time between now and December to pick out a machine that I may like. My goodness I am so blessed. So very blessed!
As an aside, hand sewing will not go by the wayside...I want to continue to do this as well. My my, the days will be full.
Hear that? That's the sound of my creative flurry! Hehe. Thanks again for all of your encouragement!

Grace, thank you. Jo-Anns had the Butterwick patterns on sale this past week, so I picked up the pattern yesterday. Love the pattern.

I shop sales-especially at the fabric store. My place to shop. I went when the store first opened, so it was sort of quiet. Just the usual people trying to get things for last minute costumes.
