I love reading about weddings on this site and especially enjoy seeing pictures of the wedding couples. Wouldn't it be fun to post our wedding picture with the date and a little something about that very special day! Mine are packed up right now as we have sold our home and building the new one. I could get my hands on my wedding portrait, but DH isn't in it.

I happen to have one saved because it's on my facebook page so it was easily accessible. We didn't really have traditional pics done, more photo journalism, documenting what the day was like, and I've been so pleased with them..in fact, they are the only pictures I will readily show anyone of myself!!!

August 4, 2000. Our wedding bands were inscribed with "The World Awaits Us!" in Gaelic. A small, intimate gathering of family and closest friends shared this day with us. I'm happy to say that they are all still in our lives, and have seen us through these 8 years together as husband and wife. I remember not being nervous at all...I felt like getting married to Jus was as easy as breathing, and I still do.

Thanks, Melody June. I really loved our wedding day...it so suited who were are--simple, and that's why I also asked my FIL (who took our photos) not to "pose" anyone....I love the timeless quality of the black and white, and where they were taken (a former tallow factory dating to 1845)...they could be from 1950 at first glance!

Both pictures are so beautiful! I would love to see more. Jonni your picture does look right out of the 50's. The really "cool" fifties. And Jessie, you and CR look like the elegant wedding pictures in Town & Country Magazine! I hope to post one maybe by tomorrow. Again most of our stuff is in storage but I think I can find one.

Jessie! It's so nice to "see" what you look like! I'm still collecting for that baby, and now that I know the gender, well, it's a heck of a lot easier!

He does, doesn't he, Nancy? In fact, when I first told my mom about him, I said, he looks like James Dean and she said, "No one looks like James Dean except James Dean!" But now she thinks otherwise :)

I was 16 and ran off and got married. I was wearing a lavendar polka dotted dress and wanted to go to the carnival after the wedding. I think I was just a little girl out on a lark but then it did last for 40+ years. whew!!! I'll have to find that picture--the JP took it.

Here are some pictures from my wedding on Oct 3rd. We really had a farm wedding :) I even drove in on our tractor! The wedding took place out in one of our fields. We planned/paid for it all ourselves. What a task!

Ooh your pics are just adorable, Megan! Isn't it funny how everyone has such different tastes and unique styles.
I gotta agree..James Dean for sure, Jonni! ;)
MaryBeth--I sooo wanna see your sweet pic! Purple polka dots are always one of those things that since it was different, it will always remind you :D
This is so much fun! Great idea Jonni!

hugs

Love all the pictures ladies

This is at the reception mil threw us in June '04 at her place on Crystal Lake.

We were married at the JOP with just close family and friends in attendance, then we rented a large beach house for a week and had friends come in to stay for a a couple of hours or a couple of days when they could as a reception. We got to hang out with many close friends that week.

packing up

It was a fun and relaxed way to get hitched

Hee Hee ... Loving all your wedding pictures. Too bad cameras weren't invented when we were married! Just kidding ... we ran away and got married so no one to take pix back in 1957. Hoping all your's last as long as our's.

I've finally got some of my wedding pics uploaded...I think the professional ones of my DH and I are awesome. The link to the photobucket account is on my blog:

I thought taking pictures in the tobacco was a GREAT idea, and the pictures turned out wonderful. Especially the black and white ones. They're so striking! (And, black and white is so flattering! haha!)

Love all the pictures ladies! Jonni, I love the black and white, it does look very vintage :)

There was another thread about practical wedding ideas before this one. I don't seem to have the search feature quite figured out. Any suggestions how to find that one?
