Welcome all! It's wonderful to see the diverse places that you all are from!

Annette! I used to live in Fairfield and have been through Rio Vista many many times. My husband and I used to do bike rides over that way. It is a wonderful place! Welcome here! I currently live in Lower Lake, CA and love it!

I live in the high desert of CA on the east side of the Sierra's in Inyokern. In fact our front porch faces the mountains and it's such a lovely view. No one lives close. There are cattle and horses around me but on our 2 1/2 acres we just have chickens and a dog. We have both flower and vegetable gardens and it is so peaceful here with the closest highway about a mile and a half west of us.

Right now I live in Longview, Tx. In about a year we will be moving to our retirement home in Nashville, In. That's in Brown County in the southern part of the state. I'm so excited about moving back home after 40 years.

We "Four Country Gals" live on 10 acres in the Escalante Vally Utah. The address says Beryl, but that ghost town/spec land is 7 miles north of us. Beryl Junction is 7 miles south of us. Would you believe we actually live in a subdivision? Folks who live here have anywhere from 10 to 100 acres unless they're "big farmers". They have thousands of acres.

Oh, we're 17 miles north of Enterprise (grocery, gas, medical clinic). Our mail comes from New Castle (15 miles southeast of us. Cedar City is over the mountains to the east about 45 minutes. St George is over some more mountains about 65 miles south.

You could say we're in the middle of nowhere.

Beckyann, I love the area around Tillamook. Of course, on our way through to the Oregon Coast, we stop to get some cheese and those squeeky curds. LOL. Welcome!

I live in Mountain View, Arkansas. We are billed as the "Folk Music capitol of the world". On our town square people come from here and all over to play old time, country, gospel, folk, etc. music on acoustic instruments. I play strings---fiddle, guitar, mountain dulcimer, some clawhammer banjo, mandolin, just got an autoharp and I'm figuring out how to play melody on it. Went to the square last night and played guitar with some friends. In summer it is like a big street fair from mid-week through Saturday. No liquor here, but we all have 'ice cream bellies' because a couple of shops sell ice cream there. We also have the Ozark Folk Center (where I have my craft shop), Blanchard Caverns (you won't believe what is under the earth!), the White River, lots of hiking in the mountains, mountain biking, etc. A great destination for tourists, but I am glad I can enjoy this year round.

Gail, I went to your website and love your work! I've belonged to a local group that teaches Early American living skills and sang with their group that sings music of that era. I sure wish I had seen your site before I made my outfits. Every year we hold the Johnny Appleseed Festival in Ft. Wayne where he is buried. We all must wear era clothing. I think I'll be buying one of your aprons. I collect old ones and love the full length ones.
