Carved jade in several colors and then opal ship and moonstone chip. Took forever to get the opal chip from china but was well worth it this fall.

These scenes are on a Christmas tree skirt I've been working on for the past 30yrs. It's a kit my "X" M-I-L gave me. It's a big circular skirt with scenes from "The Night Before Christmas". All that's left is to cut, baste-stitch, press, and blanket stitch the outside of the circle, then cut the center ring. Maybe this year I'll actually get it finished & be able to enjoy it under the tree.

I've learned to knit in the last month. Made 4 different samplers, practicing stitches, two dishcloths, and I'm starting a third dishcloth with the "tribble" pattern mentioned in a recent post. I have a needlepoint to complete, new transfers for kitchen towels, I want to start a scarf my husband asked for and then, socks...just loving this!

Say to them, may the Lord bless you and protect you, May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace. (Numbers 6:23-26)

I'm working on embroidering my sisterhood badges. Here's a shot of two of them that I've finished....eventually the whole fabric will have them and I'll make it into a wall quilt. and

Ahhhh, Lisa, thank you for saying so!

Kimberly Ann, I looked @ yours and ohhh, love the colors, the embroidery...I felt that inner joy that I remember when I learned to embroider.

I find a sense of joy working a project, but also a deeper sense of finding (?) an inner voice, or the recognition of an inner gift being released, does that make sense? Some fulfillment that only creating with my hands can give.

Annika is soooo right...the farmgirls are so talented.

What wonderful things you are working on. I'm going on a quilting retreat where we just SEW for 4 days! What a great way to get stuff done with no distractions. It starts at 8p.m. Thursday evening and ends on Sunday. Wow, I've taken on too many projects, but Oh well, it's better than being bored.

Wow! Such beautiful work you all are doing!! The Christmas tree skirt is just gorgeous! What time you must be putting into it, Chandra!

The badges are coming out beautifully. I am amazed at such wonderful talents!!

Lisa--whipped raspberry shea butter sounds delicious!! ( of course i wouldnt eat it, but you know what I mean) hehe I bet it smells lovely too. Not like the stinky shea butter that you get in the store--PU!! lol

This is so much fun seeing and hearing what everyone is doing!
hugs

Hey Jessie, thanks for the wonderful comments, all the talent among the farmgirls is just so great to see. It's inspiring, reassuring, comforting!
I have put a few hours in on the skirt, every year, then get discouraged because I don't finish it in time, it gets packed up with the Christmas stuff, and I forget it (thankfully) till the next year. Listen, my DH and I are going through his dad's estate and I will have to take pictures and post the secquined, beaded work of art that DH's grandmother made. NOW THIS IS a CHRISTMAS tree skirt...I'll post pic's as soon as possible, but hers is the Cresche..not sure of the spelling...it's the manger and the wise men...it's the MOST awesome tree skirt I've ever seen. I think that's been the reason I just didn't finish the one I've worked on all these years...it's not about the birth of Christ and it just seemed wrong...I love the work I've done on it, but it just never felt right...oh well.

Blessings farmgirls!

i'm working on Christmas presents. I'm making some of my family members Some hand made aprons that i came up with the design myself. I chose Longaberger fabric because most of my family loves that print. I have about 6 to make and have only started on the first one, so i have quite a ways to go yet, but i do have 46 days to do it!

I'm working on cleaning up(and out!) my sewing room so that I can actually get into it to sew. I have made progress this weekend. Also had a quilt group meeting on Saturday so I got to work on a couple of Christmas projects.

I know the topic is "What are "you" working on, but I mentioned this Christmas tree skirt in a previous post and y'all seemed interested. My husband's grandmother made this, I am in awe! I need to post one really close up pic so y'all can see the detail of the sequins and beads, it's stunning. The tree skirt is wool, beads, sequins, and so-on, @ least 55yrs old, as my S-I-L remembers helping bead one of the lambs.
