I have too many U.F.O.s at the moment; I have to get some of these done. My current big project is using cotton yarn to crochet granny hexagons for a multi-colored throw. I also have a Queen Anne's Lace throw to continue with, a pair of socks to finish, a log cabin throw to complete....oh, too much!

Over the weekend I canned 90 lbs of tomatoes. This coming weekend it will be Apple Butter making time!!! Fortunately that can be done in my crockpot so I can work on finishing up my sewing projects. I've got potholders and aprons galore to finish.

Canning alot...mostly tomatoes this week...and knitting socks..cast on a pair for my oldest son this morning. I am also working on a wool penny rug type wall hanging with lots of detail...it has santa and reindeer and says "dash away, dash away, dash away all" on it...I love it. I THINK it willl be for our house..but may end up a gift. I have a whole list of handknits to make this year and pajamas to sew for the kids before Christmas.

Well Mary Jane, the hexagon is indeed the greatest symbol for farmgirls, we are all as busy as bees. (in our aprons, of course). We will get a hard freeze here by Saturday, so we are busy getting things in for fall. Some tomatoes, basil, dill and lemon verbena and pineapple sage, which has the most beautiful red flowers, and of course apples and raspberries. I am just beginning on the quilt with your fabrics and come freeze it'll keep me in and give me time to go gung ho! I just LOVE aprons too and seem to have one for every task. Happy fall.

I haven't been able to work on anything good since Sunday! We moved the livingroom around to make room for a woodstove. The couch is sitting in the middle of the living room waiting to be moved to the hunting camp. We live in a trailer so the LR isn't very big to begin with! All of a sudden I have no place to put the guinea pig cage, so I had to clean off my play area (sewing)and put them there! How horrid! Now the house is in shambles AND I have no place to play! (big sigh!) Ok, enough complaining!
I was working on a Halloween charm blanket, MJ knitted slippers, and some embroidery pieces.

Take care, Melissa.

I'm working on a cross stitch project I started last year. It's a basket full of fruit with a big blue ribbon bow around the basket handle. I'm determined to finish it this year. I have a slight problem finishing projects. I start them with a fervor but then get wrapped up in something else. I want to finish it and feel that glow of accomplishment this time.
When I visit my parents at Thanksgiving this year, I'm going to get a refresher course on how to crochet and knit from my mom. I learned a few years ago but have since forgotten. This is the winter of gettin' crafty! :)

I'm working on modifying a mountain of pants for my gram. She can't stand anything tight on her waist so we are doing a maternity-ish waist panel from CL on all of her RTW pants. As well as mittens and hats for my kiddos, some OBV breast pads for a friend and a jacket for her lil guy.

Happy sewing

I am STILL working on the crocheted Christmas ornaments. ;) They are taking me forever, it seems! But they are turning out nicely so it makes up for the tedium, I think :D

What size were the overalls Jennifer? They are really cute. That would make a cute purse also.

I'm working on two quilts for my grand daughter, table runner for my sister, quilt for one son and the top for my first quilt has to be taken to the quilters for her to make it look beautiful--if it can be done at all! All these goodies have to be finished by Christmas. Whoopee.

Bonnie,
The overalls are a size 18 months. I got 3 pairs so I'm gonna make two more for holiday gifts. Not too many people on my list who hang out clothes anymore. I may get to keep at least one more. Could ya have two, one on each end of the clothesline? You watch I just may do that, if they turn out as fun as these ones did.

Warm Wishes

I've started quilting recently and love it. my grandmother's quilt tops were passed down to me and i finally decided to learn to quilt so i can finish them. she and her female kin made them during WWII. i'm making a series of fairy quilts to practice.
