I'm still in! I keep getting faster and faster at stitchin'em up. We made a trip last week and I stitched in the car....jabbing myself with the needle at every bump.

A few weeks ago I planted tons of marigolds all around our home.....in the vegetable garden, in hanging pots, in the herb garden, in pots by the front door, etc.... So, right now, I'm stitching yos of a beautiful marigold yellow....not too bright. Plus, the fabric pattern is a color wash with different shades and variations of the yellow. The yo looks just like a little marigold!

I also planted tons of green leaf red begonias. My eyes just might want to do those colors, too.

Blessings Y'all

I'm all done with mine for swapping - but need to make about 200 total if I want to make a vest....so I'm still at it.

we're heading for nashville airport this morning (for honey hunk's Mt. Everest climb) .. he will be gone for 6 weeks .. i'll have lots of "yo-ing" time! i'm going to roam the backroads of tennessee for a few days before returning home .. and i'm having a couple gurlfren gatherings here at cabin creek farm during april .. and there are several fun 'town events' that i'm involved in this coming month too .. sooooo ... i'll keep pretty busy so as not to get toooooo lonely!

i had a thought .. and will look for your input on my return:

if we swap with 20 girls .. the postage might get a little steep .. do you all prefer to divide the swaps ... with about five girls each sending about a dozen yo's each to five other friends .. or do you still prefer to swap about 3 yo's with 20 different farmgirls.

we'll go with the 'majority' choice .. sooooo ... vote here and we'll talley them up next week. (i'll be home late sunday night).

xoxo, frannie

Mornin' Frannie - I'm mostly a rug hooker - plenty of wool but little cotton. So, I bought new for the swap and have my 60 yo's yo'd but I only used 3 different cottons. I would like to go ahead and swap with all 20 gals. At least from me everyone would get just one of a kind - otherwise I have too many of the same kind to just share with a few gals. What did everyone else do?? Lots of variety or many yo's of just a few cottons?? Gee, I used to have lots of cotton but the wool just took over!! sandi

I'd like to keep it to the 20 as originally planned. More variety that way.

Well, what can 3 yoyo's weigh? Can't be over an ounce, do you suppose? If its only 39¢, then that's not so bad - about 7.80 for 20 people. You'd have to have the post office hand stamp the envelope so as not to rip or tear it going thru their meter. I would go for sending 3 to all. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow.

Personally I like the idea of getting mail from 20 differnet gals even if it costs me more to mail mine. I am such a sucker for happy mail!!

Keep it at the 20 people, I'm all done with my 60 and I think I'm gonna make more.

I'll need a few patterns for things to do with the yoyo's I've never worked with them before. i would like to make a tote though, so if any of you have a pattern you would like to share send it on over.

I wrapped 3 yoyos in one piece of 8"x11 1/2" paper and put it in an envelope and put it on my food scale, and its less than an ounce, so .39 should work. Just make sure you have the post office hand cancel - that'll be the important part. On that piece of paper, you can put your little poem, or thought, or sentiment, and your name to go into the yoyo album or whatever.

Cathy, I have the directions for a yoyo tote, I think its kind of a small one, but you could make it larger, I'm sure. If you want it email me your address and I'll send it out to you. I'm sure you could also find a cheapo one at a second hand shop or a garage sale and just sew your yoyos on it!

I'm loving this stitchin'!! I've gotten quite quick at it. It's such a relaxing mindless task. I just want to keep making them....the more I read of all the different items to be made from the yos, the more I want to make!

Betty Jo, I have to caution you about putting yoru name and address in the forum. It's better to email Frannie directly. You should probably take it out and send it in an email. We've learned the hard way.

Patricia
