This bunch of leaves was in my CSA box today, and I didn't ask what it was before I left. Does anyone have any idea? The picture is of four BIG leaves bunched together. You can see by the ruler along the side they're quite large.

Personally, I'm not a fan of greens (kale, spinach, etc.) but I LOVE swiss chard. We've grown the rainbow chard in the past, red and yellow stems. They are so beautiful. I agree with the previous cooking methods. Just slice the leaves into ribbons and saute in olive oil and garlic. If you're a meat eater, some crumbled bacon is good too.

It IS good if cut small, added to green salads too.

I am growing red swiss chard right now. I love to saute it with other veggies and olive oil.

Yes that is Swiss Chard. It also comes in a rainbow variety with yellow and red stalkes. We like it a lot better than spinach and it cans well for all year long. I add bacon bits and chopped onions with a small dab of bacon grease. I haven't tried the sauted method, but definitely will.
