jaime - how do you make herb coffee? it sounds yummy!
what i did today:
woke up at 7 a.m. to meet a friend halfway so i could buy her coffee for her 500 mile journey to north dakota to go back to college... i'll miss her!
did 1 load of laundry and hung it on the clothesline
weeded the flower garden
did dishes
when hubby wakes up (he works nights) we may go into town to buy some of the supplies we need for the next step in building our garage. maybe work on the garage when we get back.
having leftovers for dinner, so no cooking tonight!

later it will be weeding the veggie garden, maybe some more on the flower garden....
and watering the trees

Today was the kids first day back to school. Cat started 7th grade. My big baby girl is in middle school now. When did this happen?! Matthew is in the 4th grade and my baby is in the second grade. I'm feeling a little old today. Ahh oh well.
Anyhoo-- after dropping the kids at school I went to work, which was first to clean a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house. Why is it that I can clean a house this size in a matter of a few hours and I can't even get my little 2 bedroom/ 1 bath mobile home cleaned in a week???
Then I ran and got a bite to eat. Then I was off to clean another house. This one's 2 bed/ 3 baths
Then stopped at Goodwill to get some sweaters for my snowmen this Christmas. Bought four but will only be using one. One has turned into mine, but I may change my mind. Cat laid claims to one of the other ones and then as I was checking out the last one I realized it is homemade and I refuse to cut up something someone knitted. That's ok I have other plans for it now.
After the Goodwill I took the car to the carwash. I'm so lazy- I went through the automatic. It does a suckish job. Just a reminder as to why I don't normally go through that one.
Then grabbed the kids from school. Came home mowed the lawn, made dinner, washed the dishes, folded the laundry, packed in all my cleaning supplies, scrubbed the bathroom, took a shower and now I'm getting ready to go watch a movie - A Haunting in Connecticut. eeewwwwww. lol
Hope all of you ladies have a had a great day! I'm going to go curl up in bed now. NIght Night! Melanie

Lets see here! Today is going to be a big cleaning day so I will edit this post through out the day:
So far today I have done:
2 loads of laundry Gotten Nora her breakfast made the bed 6 more loads of laundry washed, dried, folded and put away 1/4 of my kitchen cupboards and counter tops cleaned, organized and polished Finger painted with Nora! :D 2 more loads of laundry washed, folded, dried. Large pot of bean soup/ chili is made for the week. 2 more loads of laundry washed, dried and folded. 2 more in the process. Another load of dishes Kitchen floor mopped Kitchen Table scrubbed (what did Nora get on it?!) Shampooed a halway and the beginnings of the living room carpet. Yuck! I hate having pale cream carpet with a dog and a toddler. NOT a good combo!! Finished shampooing carpet and Shampooer that I thought was broken fixed itself and is now working better than ever! Living room also picked up Living room also vacuumed Doug is finishing up the dishes or at least he got pretty close. I will finish in the morning. I'm beat and ready to go to bed! The last loads of laundry that aren;t dried and folded will wait for tomorrow and then the house will be pretty decent. Still lots of work to do, but much better than it was!
...More laundry and dishes coming up!
I know if I can just get the kitchen clean, the rest of the house will shortly fall into place there after... Just have to break through..... So far today, I have one load of wash done, the dogs got their flea treatment, dh and I went for breakfast, I have cherry cobbler (thank you MaryJane Lee!) in the oven and a shop full of customers. I'm fixing to make that chicken pot pie recipe of MJ's also. Have shopping to do, need to get my hair cut today, and clean and rearrange my kitchen here at the shop. Busy, busy day. Better than trying to find something to do!
Hope you all have a spectacular Saturday. Be blessed!

Well, other than shopping so far today has been more play :)
~Grocery Shopping (stocking up for the winter) ~Picked up a bushel of Peaches to freeze and make jam, along with some wonderful tomatoes and cantaloupe from the Farmer's Market ~Went to the Post Office to send a barter ~Went to the Bank ~Stopped at the Thrift Store and scored! I found a vintage Hot Water Urn, ceramic lined with two levered spouts. The price was marked $15.00 (which was a deal!) and they gave it to me for $7.50! I also found the sweetest Vintage Tablecloth with cherries and flowers for $3.00
Left to do:
~Dishes ~Some Laundry ~Review Sunday School Lesson ~Get things ready for church tomorrow

Today I helped two friends set up their booths at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. While doing that I visited with friends and we had a fabulous picnic lunch. I also went to my Mom to steal bread recipes and visit with her. So, I didn't do much today, but had a great day!

My carpets look so much better! Oh my word they look better! I am so happy! I am glad my shampooer fixed it's left. There must have been some dried gunk or something in there. I don't know but it's gone now and I am sooo happy!
So far I started one load in the washer. I am not washing my small rugs and soon I will be washing the covers to my couch cushions. :D

Today I started off with God's word from our pastor on the radio--have a sick pup at home we are keeping an eye on....then made a MJ Bakeover from scratch with lots of veges and left overs...mmmm...then took an hour walk up the mountain with hubby when the pup fell asleep and thanked the Lord for such a beautiful day...back for laundry, fed the birds, cuddled with the pups, checked messages and bought an apron from a farmgirl neighbor Sharon down the road through her new Etsy she posted here at the Connection...planning on a quiet evening...blessings to all you farmgirls....hugs too...

got up at 4am and was in the office by 5 to work on testing a software patch that simply HAS to go out on Monday. One of our major customers had problems and the developers wrote a bug fix - which I was able to set up in my lab late Friday.... so I spent all day saturday and all day today testing. Finally got home just before 5pm. Too tired to even *think* about attacking the dust bunnies or laundry...

:) Holy moly! I'll play. :) Today I... Canned chili 2 loads of laundry swept cleaned kitchen post-chili...eek dug potatoes/harvested what was ready in the garden worked with Q (farrier out this morning didn't like his behavior, think I may find a new farrier with a diff. philosophy/approach) He picks up his feet just fine for me. Hmm? shooed kittens out of the field as it was being harvested ("But Mom! The grasshoppers...") introduced horses to the combine/monitored for "freak out" (Q was excited/curious at first but chilled out) played board games with daughter trying not to worry about DH who is out fighting a fire and won't be home tonight...sigh...
This is a big slow-down for me, and I have got to admit, I love it (except for the fire)! One more week before heading back to the class room.

Cleaning Spree today!!
Picked up living room Shampooed two spots I found on the carpet- I think Nora forgot to go to the bathroom to go potty :( Took the Head off my vacuum, cleaned beater bar and metal housing. Adjusted beater bar height on vacuum Stripped Nora's bed Sorted through some toys that will be taken to the thrift store on Monday Pulled some weeds in the back yard picked up toys and garbage in Nora's room (How she gets half that stuff in there, I will never know) vacuumed 3/4 of Nora's room (the rest needs to get moved and is going to happen tomorrow Shampooed the vacuumed portion of Nora's room. Decided I need to get some storage tubs for Nora's room! LOL Vacuumed my couch since Nora decided to decorate it with parmesean cheese while I was cleaning in the other room *sigh* It never ends... I swear.
I think that will be all for tonight. Maybe some loads of laundry but I think I will finish up stuff tomorrow. My sister who is allergic to everything is coming tomorrow though and it would be nice to do a secondary cleaning right before she comes so I might wait until Nora is asleep and keep working.
I lost my motivation somehow! I need to go work on her room so it's clean for tonight. *sigh* LOL Alee Farmgirl Sister #8 www.awarmheart.com www.farmgirlalee.blogspot.com www.allergyjourneys.blogspot.com Put your pin on the farmgirl map! www.farmgirlmap.blogspot.com |

Things I did today, as in cleaning the house. Zero!!!!!!! Things I did outside: Mowed the yard, weeded the flower beds, picked okra and tomatoes, washed two litter boxes, chatted with my outside cats, cleaned the inside of my car, and tried to pull tall weeds on the edge of the lake. There were two alligators eyeing me, so I had to give up on that. Marly

Yes, Alee alligators are protected over here. However, if one is after me, I will shoot it. I've done that before. If they are a threat the Wildlife says I can shoot them. Alligator meat is super good. Marly

Alee! Slow down girl! :) Reading and thinking about this thread yesterday made me think of all the little things I do each day that I forget to credit myself for. How interesting.
Today: School shopping/girl's day in town. Whew! My brain is jello. (not a big shopper) Picked chokecherries. Horse chores and some playing.
Now, Marly, you going to tease that 'gator into ending up on the table? :)
We make a difference. |
