I always find myself being more productive when I list out every thing that I have done each day. It is inspirational to see that things are getting done even if things don't look all THAT much better. I find myself wanting to get more done because I can see that I have been active whereas on other days I lose motivation because I don't feel like anything is changing.
SOOOO-
Today I have:
Washed 2 loads of dishes Washed the kitchen cupboards scrubbed down the stove seasoned our cast iron pans cleaned the sinks Round Penned Tala Groomed and clipped Tala OKay I could go on forever about what I did with Tala so I will just say I spen almost 4 hours with her LOL
Off to do more!

I'm afraid I didn't accomplish much of anything. Dh and I decided to have a "down" day. We really needed the rest.
So...I read "One Second After" by William R. Forstchen most of the day. About the only thing I really accomplished all day was making dinner.
Good for you, Alee, Joyce |

I knitted a red dishcloth with a cherry pattern.
Did some embroidery.
We went to a local farmers market because the local peaches are ready and you can never have too many peaches! We also got a yellow watermellon along with eggs and produce.
We bought seeds for fall.
I am leading a 4-H project in the fall that is building robots. I have listed the parts we need and priced it per child.
We're about to swim to escape the heat, then I'll start dinner.
After dinner dh and I have to pull out the oven and clean it and because it is not lighing. It is still under the warranty so someone is coming to look at it tomorrow. I was really glad for that because it is a Siemens and we don't have them in the US anymore. We would have to order the part from Canada. There will be bakeovers in no time..hopefully.
We will end the day by watching Mystery on PBS.

I cleaned the growing coop (meat chickens and turkey poults), removed/killed and disposed of a rattlesnake that was in the rabbit barn, cleaned dog runs, weeded the kitchen garden, moved piles around in my sewing/craft room, Cleaned the bird cages ( I have a bluefront amazon, 2 parakeets and a cockateil), sweep up the worst of the dirt off the mudroom floor ( don't do major housecleaning til winter), put a pork roast in the crockpot for tomorrow, managed to sort at least a ton of laundry ( and its only me), pulled some tomato worms off and my chickens love me for that, still got to move water around for my flowers and young trees, and I hope be able to do some painting yet tonight in my kitchen.

Today I have worked on several bushels of peaches. Almost done. I will be giving half of these to my sis-in-law and some to my girls. My kitchen smells wonderful. tammyb Sisterchick #541

Yesterday I went to the farmers market, went to the store to pick up some groceries, went home and unloaded corn for freezing. We made lunch for us and our helpers we had, then the guys went out to get the steers that got loose. I straightened up the house, made monkey bread dough for todays breakfast, went and helped the guys get the steers in (It ultimately failed) and went home; finished de-husking and processing the corn for freezing, then my wonderful fiance played guitar for me, and we went to bed. :)

I had help but we cleaned out the milk room! I weeded a little in the garden. Now I am on my second batch of feta cheese. Then I'll make ricotta next. I am cooking dinner in between and chasing chickens out of the garden! Also raking grass that DD and SIL are mowing up and giving it to the goats. I hate to waste good food!
I love you blog, too, Megan. I had to go after my 2 cow babes a few weeks ago. But mine just follow me home. They were bottle babes. I chase goats alot, too. What fun!

Today was a busy day for me: I helped my husband hang paintings, pictures, and hooks. I sweeped two bedrooms because the carpet man is coming tomorrow to put the carpet. I moved a table from one room into another room. I weeded about a half an hour until the rain started. I washed four sets of sheets, and dried them. I moved stuff up in the attic. Marly

Well, this morning before work I... -Started a load of laundry -Dusted -Cleaned the window where the cat loves to stick her nose -Cleaned the sink in the bathroom ( I hate, I mean hate water spots). I think tonight I will vacume and clean the kitchen floor. Really I am kind of OCD about cleaning, its starting to bother my boyfriend I think because I never stop. I really cant help it, I blame it on my mother! |

Last night I got a couple of sticks of butter out to use up some over ripe bananas. That was the plan for first thing this a.m. So what I have done today is: Greased the pan for the banana sheet cake. Woops then I went outside. Hoed and prepared bed for turnips. Planted turnips turned soil and planted green onions and radishes Harvested another bunch of tomatoes and squash Forgot to come back in the house to get the clippers to cut the okra. Will have to do that as soon as I get through here. fixed lunch for Ole Ron Came in here to see what ya'all were doing. May come back to this topic tonight but only if I get anything done. The bananas are getting blacker and the butter is getting softer. So is the cream cheese.

So far today (it is just after noon) I: got up and made the girl's breakfast, made them lunches to take along and drove them to drop off to leave for camp,(they will be home on Friday) Cleaned up the kitchen and did 2 loads of laundry Hung one load of laundry on the clothesline (need to get that other load out there in a minute), Picked a bunch of mint to make mint jelly later today..and washed it, Made myself a breakfast burrito and ate it while walking around the garden, Watered the whole garden (missed my helpers!) and pulled a few weeds Fed the sheep, cow, and goat and then the rabbits and chickens and gathered eggs, Checked on the baby ducks and changed their water (oldest daughter fed them early) Fed and gave fresh water to the dogs and cats Made my bed and got things moved so I can vacum the family room this afternoon Swept the kitchen floor Did a quick cleanup in the bathroom, Watered the plants in pots on the patio and front porch and deadheaded a bunch of the marigolds and zinnias Made a small list for the grocery store, Got a couple nice rib steaks out of the freezer for tonight's supper (just the two of us) Put all the zuchinni bread and muffins in the freezer that I baked last night (getting things frozen and ready for the first couple weeks of school while I won't be able to bake or get special things ready for the kid's lunches and breakfasts ahead of time) I need to make myself a quick lunch and get changed (my skirt got really wet out in the garden..the hose got away from me) and get ready to go to a doctor appt at 2:30 in the next town south (pre-op check up) and a quick stop at the small grocery store down there. When I get home I plan to read a little while (the hottest part of the day!) and then work in the garden alot after supper tonight. I need to pick banana and gypsy peppers, broccoli and lettuce, and more herbs to dry, and pull weeds in the herb beds. I love that I don't have anywhere I have to be today but that little check up thing. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Wow Jenny!! I feel like I am not doing anything compared to what you have gotten done already. Need to sit for a minute so thought I'd add to what I have done today. Cut okra and cleaned yesterdays and todays harvest and got it in the freezer. Got the banana bar/cake thing in the oven. Went to the celler and brought up jars and stuff that I'll need tomorrow for making salsa. Son and D-I-L came by and brought me a can of a new chili sauce that they had found, liked it and wanted me to try it. Got all the tomatoes ready to make salsa and tomato sauce. With the same sauce, I can make spagetti/pizza or chili sauce. Want to can some of each to enter in the county fair. Cake comming out of the oven soon. need to get the dishes done and finish the frosting for the cake.
Till later, Belle |

Belle...I wish I could get okra to do well here! I think our growing season is too short. I have tried for a few years. Didn't try this year...sigh. but maybe next year. I LOVE okra..fried or pickled..yum!!

I think okra is hard to grow. Shouldn't be, because it is such an old standby for people in the south. I have trouble getting my okra to germinate so I plant twice as much as I think I'll need. I planted mine the 1st of May and it is just now comming on. So that is 3 months. My grandson planted some in the "back" garden and his all germinated and is growing taller than mine but isn't putting on any blooms yet. Well, maybe one. It takes the rest of the summer to harvest a dozen qt bags for the freezer.
