Been a long weekend feeling a little restless so I decided to make some soap. I just finished a rather large batch of get this.... Orange Essential Oil, Lemon balm, and Orange Thyme soap with Lemon balm and Orange Thyme infused pure virgin olive oil and sprinkled throughout with bits of Lemon balm and Orange thyme picked from my herb garden and chopped fine. The house smells very citrusy and refreshing.
Can't wait until it is cured and ready to go! ![](icons/icon_smile.gif) ![](icons/icon_smile.gif) ![](icons/icon_smile.gif)

Oh my gosh, that sounds absolutely yummy smelling. I bet it feels great using it too. Is soap making a soothing activity? I've never done it and I'm curious. I'd love to learn how.

Sounds delicious! Soapmaking is an activity I've not done yet, but would love to give it a try. I have lots of herbs to choose from in my garden. |

It's relaxing for me, but then again so is ironing!!
It's quite a process you have to know the perecentages of fat/ratio that you use.... I only use vegetable based oils...and temperature is very key. It took us nine (9) different batches in the beginning 4 years ago, before we hit on the right recipe we felt worked the best for our little business. I like to have at least one or two batches curing at all times during the year (which comes out to about 8-lbs a batch) and we like to cure ours for at least 4-weeks as it makes for a longer lasting bar and the pH level is best.
There are a lot of wonderful info sites on the net that you could look up. I worked closely with a lady in Washington by the name of Miller. I think if you type in Millers Soap it should bring up the site. It's been a while since I referred to it, she is very good about answering questions for newbies and just an all around very nice lady!

Tina...Glad you like my soap!
I think I have what is current as far as scents go on my etsy site; www.lemonverbenasoap.etsy.com. Plus I have Ocean breeze curing and the Orange Thyme soap curing. Were you looking for anything particular?
Oh I almost forgot. My blue glass atomizer bottles arrived today and I have filled those with Lavender Essential Oil "Cooling Mist"....they are just lovely and nothing like a fresh "spritz" of lavender on your skin or linens!!
DD is doing just wonderful...we are so thankful. She continues with medication and her counseling once a week. The difference is jaw-dropping. Thank you so much for asking! Please, please continue with your prayers Tina.
Talk to you soon!!
