Most recently....I was at the state fair...early in the morning..in the goat barn..no other humans around. I heard a cough. I didn't see anyone. I heard another cough. No one there. It was a goat coughing. Sounded like another person. Amazing! It's those little sounds we could go through our whole life and never hear.
I have actually heard the corn grow. That was pretty amazing also.

I'll have to second and third the sound of absolute quiet
Sometimes I can stand outside and it's so quiet your ears will ring
Ohhhh I love the country! |

I love the sound of horses early in the morning munching on grass or hay when no one is awake yet. The most incredible was being in the middle of the Idaho mountains and hearing elk bugle all around you when they are about twenty yards away it gives me goose bumps

My sister's laugh. It is the most genuine, contagious laugh I've ever heard. And she's never even heard it; she is deaf.

I love to hear the first songs of the Locusts in early August letting us know it is six weeks to the first frost...then I know my Fall is not far behind!

The most amazing sound for me is hearing my daughter's belly laugh. When she really gets going you can't help but laugh with her. It amazes me that such a big sound comes from such a small girl. And then there is hearing my hubby snoring. Yeah I know snoring...but I've heard it for over 8 years now. I love it. Shhhh just don't tell him. LOL Jessie |

What I love to hear are the crickets at night, and the sound of the owls that live in some of the woods behind our cabin. When we lived in the city, we could never Evah leave our windows open, 'cause of break-ins around the city. One open window an' ya never know what'd happen..
So since we moved down here, when it gets warm enuf in Spring, those windows are open at night...and the comforting thing I like best is the sound of the wind in the woods...ahhh...

The best sound is the chickens clucking good night to each other. Some one luaghed at me the other day when I told them they do that, but it is the coolest sound. I try to get out there every night just to listen to them, it does not last very long. The second best sound would have to be a thunderstorm and a good book. |

At our farm, I heard crickets (or tree frogs?) chirp LOUDLY. I was amazed to hear how they stayed in unison with each other, creating a sound like the constant beat of a drum. When they got "off beat," they'd immediately get back on again. Very cool to hear. |

When working as a Florist I used to love to go out in the greenhouse when it was raining. I love the sound of rain.
I also love the sound of my pup lapping water :)

Ok I have to add two more. First the sound of my batch of pickles sealing. First time I made them in 20 years. Everyone of them sealed. Music to my ears. Second I have a new puppy and he loves to curl up in my neck and just sigh and wimper cuz he is content. I love it.

God's voice (yes audible) The laugh of a baby, the low moo of a cow, a rooster crow (when I visit family in the city my heart misses the rooster the most) Smiles, Melody June
