I have just finished reading those. The Martha years, the Charlotte years, the Caroline years, and also the Rose years. Did anyone read those, any thoughts?

I have read a few of them and really enjoy them. They are hard to find though. Non of the bookstores or the library have the complete sets.

I loved the "Little House" series when I was in grade school. I didn't know they had pre-quels for them. I'll check my library for the books. Thanks for bringing them up!

Dawn I still love the Little House series, all of them. The Laura years are my fave though, because they were written by Laura herself.

I've read a lot of them and really enjoy them. I think the ones written by Laura herself are better written but because I've read them so many time I feel like Laura and her family are my family and so reading the Rose years etc. is like learning family history a little bit - they are definitely worth reading!! Here is a list of the other books and the authors. Yes the Laura books were written by Laura Ingalls Wilder herself. The rest by other authors. It indeed is learning a little Family history. I have enjoyed reading them again. I am now into the Rose years :)

I did not know there were all these other books, what a treat. I just loved Laura's books as a little girl and have the whole vintage set. When I homeschooled my boys I found a teachers work book based on the "Little House in the Big Woods". As we read the book they used their imaginations to draw the cabin, made mobiles of things in the cabin, even made the homemade butter. I have her cook book also. It was the best learning tool. I will have to check out these books I have a grand daughter due in Sept. that will need to be read to. What a nice memory to be brought back.

Thank you so very much for the list of "Little House" books, Marion! It will come in handy for me at the library. I too am amazed by how many more books are out there about the Ingalls family. Thanks for sharing!
