woo! The last couple of days have been interesting...boring...but interesting. Anyone else get wicked ole boring heartburn?? Today kind of went like this..I'm leaving some parts out, because they are irrelevant, but just so you know, there is more to my life than just this, but so yeah anyways...
I woke up still battling a urinary tract infection. After having been to the drs and been told I didn't have much of one, and given antibiotics that I am allergic to (keeping my snotty comments about incompetency of Drs to myself) I came home and am trying to battle it with a vengeance.
(With pregnancy in mind) I drank water this morning to get rid of UTI; got heartburn. I ate cereal and milk to get rid of the heartburn; cereal causes more UTI ick! drank more water; more heartburn drank milk; heartburn tastes like sour milk--bluh!! drank more water; more heartburn ate bread rolled into balls to get rid of heartburn...we shall see.
So far, I feel like a multigrain ball of dough ready to float away..lol
If my baby doesn't come out with a gigantic frizzy afro, I will be truly surprised!
Any safe home-y remedies for heartburn?? Please though, don't ask me to drink anything that I wouldn't normally eat like pickle juice or anything along those lines..lol I haven't mastered the morning sickness part yet, but Praise be to God, it is much more bearable!! :D
hugs all,

Jessie: So sorry you had to go to that doctor. Don't get me started on doctors,, either!!!! Maybe try dry crackers with a little water or ice. Hope you are feeling better soon. Keep us posted. Marly

Jessie--a good remedy for heartburn is to add some baking soda to lukewarm water and drink it down. Don't know why it works, but it does. And you can't get any more natural than baking soda and water. Cindy

Prariehawks suggestion is exactly what I was going to say. You can drink lots of water that way, and it's INSTANT relief from heartburn, |

Ditto Cindy and Lynn - the baking soda neutralizes the acid of the heartburn. And try peppermint candy, too, Jessie. Especially after you eat anything. It might help with the morning sickness and the heartburn.

I would suggest just a "little" baking soda added to water. We have always used this remedy to cause throwing up when needed. So a little is more like Alka Selter.

Try aloe vera juice. Tastes just like water. I used it when I was pregnant, and it really helps!

A tall glass of ice cold water with a tablespoon of Braggs organic apple cider vinegar in it will take care of the UTI and heartburn.
I hope you feel better! Dawn in IL |

Milk is a little on the acidic side, so it actually can make heartburn worse...I put about a tsp of baking soda in a tall glass (16 oz or so) and drink it...it does help somewhat. Good luck!!! I had horrible heartburn when I was pregnant and everyone said it was a sign that my babies would have lots of hair...they both had long, thick hair when they were born. Maybe your sweet one will have lots of hair too. :)
