My daughter had a really rough birth, when they did her episiotomy, it extended all the way to her rectum. I make a Yarrow tincture, using Witch Hazel (Soak the flowers of Yarrow in Witch Hazel for a month, shaking everyday, strain and bottle) and poured it over a container of commercial Tucks. She placed these on her incision several times a day, leaving them in place till it was time to change again. She healed neatly, completely and loved the fresh smell and coolness. Freezing some of them helped with the swelling too.
