does anything help this? I had such a severe outbreak in July I had to see my doc-I do have a prescription ointment but the possible side effects from heavy or prolonged uses is sorta spooky.

•Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) helps regulate the immune system, which may contribute to psoriasis, and also protects the liver. Take 150 mg two times per day.
•Yellowdock (Rumex crispus), red clover (Trifolium pratense), and burdock (Arctium lappa) may be combined and are traditional remedies for psoriasis. Mix equal parts of the above herbs and use 1 cup tea three times per day or 30 - 60 drops tincture three times per day.
•Coleus forskohlii (50 - 100 mg two or three times a day) also has been historically used for psoriasis.
•Evening primrose oil (Oneothera biennis), 500 mg - 2.5 g per day. May also be applied topically.
•Oregano oil shows anecdotal evidence of helping some people with psoriasis. Take 20 - 60 drops, two times a day, diluted in water or juice.
Topical applications of some substances may relieve discomfort.

•Aloe (Aloe vera)
•Apple cider vinegar
•Capsaicin creams
•Evening primrose oil (Oneothera biennis )
•Oats or oatmeal baths
•Tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia). Note: Tea tree oil is toxic if ingested
•Oregon grape (Mahonia aquifolium

I hope this helps a little Sherrie!

I have Psoriasis all my life and so did my mom. NOTHING really helps for good, but Aloe is the best IMO. It soothes the itches somewhat.

squalane oil. I use it whenever I have outbreaks of psoriasis.

God is good....all the time.

Just to let you all know I picked up a bottle of 500mg evening primrose oil,a tube of aloe vera gel with Allentoin,@ a bottle of apple cider vinegar. Now-I know to apply the vinegar topically, but do I do it full strength or water it down some? Took an evening primrose this afternoon with my late lunch.

Hi Sherrie,

I know what you mean about the side effects from meds. My kids had exzema for years, still a little bit from time to time. One of the RX creams had a black box warning! I try to use all natural now when possible.

I actually made a couple of products that helped it A LOT (seriously not trying to push my products), but I made a simple beeswax and olive oil lotion bar, and it was amazing how the next day you can see and feel the results from dry patches. I know psoriasis is much worse than eczema, but maybe it would help? I also have an all natural butter bar soap that 1 particular customer keeps buying because he says it helps with dry patches.

You could rub some olive oil onto the psoriasis. Seriously. I use to always buy the 'hot oil treatments' for my thick dry hair. I dont buy them anymore, I simply heat up 1/2 cup of olive oil (I have a lot of hair), and massage it into my hair and scalp and leave it on. (do it on a day you dont have to go anywhere, lol). It was INCREDIBLE how soft and relieved my hair and scalp were of dryness.

Connie, thanks so much for the info! I'll have a look at the lotion bar when I get my next paycheck-the last 2 months have been pretty rough financially. Good to know about the olive oil tho-hoping using all natural keeps the outbreaks minor & to a minimum. I was eyeballing your sleep salve & shaving soap too!

Comfrey oil would help as well. I have eczema and I use goats milk soaps. I found that when using commercial products it worsened my eczema. So now I will only use homemade goats milk soaps and homemade shampoos and conditioners. Comfrey heals on contact and is great for eczema, burns, bruises, scrapes, pretty much anything having to do with wounds on the skin. It shouldn't be used on puncture wounds because it'll heal the outer skin trapping the bacteria inside the wound.

Connie I will definately be ordering again & thanks for the discount code! Comfrey oil? Never knew that. I'm seeing how the evening primrose pills & the Aloe gel does- I do use goats milk soap on the area (the back of my neck of all places) Seems like it's kicked into a more intense gear since July. Hoping the cooler weather settles it down.

Olive Oil has helped me. I get eczema pretty bad and found if I put olive oil on and keep it moist, the outbreak lessens. I don't use it all the time, only when I get real dry or I get an outbreak. Good luck and sympathy as I understand the frustration that goes with this.

Thanks,Laurie-yes it really gets frustrating at times...esp when it gets really red-looks like a bad sunburn & I'm hoping my hair covers it.....
