Don't you just hate them??????? I saw one of the dang little pretty moths they come from yesterday on my broccoli. I probably looked like a fool trying to catch it. Never did manage. I need to get a spray of dish soapy water or garlicky water ready before there are more!

I have been doing the dish soap spray and dh went out this morning and found over 30 on our brocolli anyway. Now we're trying Jerry Baker's suggestion of flour and cayenne pepper - it's supposed to blow up the little critters!

Yuck, I really hate those bums!!! I have about 75 broccoli, cabbage and kohlrabi plants that I walked through the other day, knocking the worms off with a stick, into my son's little sand bucket, where they met an untimely death via drowning!! AHHH it felt good!! The next day I walked through and only found 5 or 6 of them. Yesterday I didn't see any, but I am sure they are still there. It doesn't help that they are almost a perfect match for the color of the leaves, does it? Sneaky boogers...

I was in a fancy restaurant with my Mother and found one in my salad. The reaction of the waitress was too funny. It didn't really bother me cuz I'd seen them before. Always a farm girl. LOL MB

Oooooooo Mary Beth - that's funny! They are sneaky like Toni said - with their matching color. We were in a fancy restaurant in Seattle one time and my daughter got a fingertip of latex glove in her ice cream cake - being a farm girl really didn't help in that situation!

The little cabbage worms don't bother me too much, I mean I still don't squish 'em with my bare hands or anything, but it is the tomato hornworms that get me!! Yikes, those suckers are scary!! And way, way bigger than what should be legal. Yuck yuck yuck!!!

I agree about those tomato hornworms. They are ugly and gross. I've gotten to checking my tomatoes daily. Usually they are straight up from their droppings on the ground. At least that's how I find them.

I've given up the broccoli, cabbage planting because of the cabbage worms.

I've never planted cabbage until this year, as well as broccoli...is this what I have to look forward to? I must add to this that I had 5 tomato plants last year and not one of those gross tomato horn worms were to be found. I remember those from my childhood, but not any cabbage worms...

I went out to pick spinach and lettuce out of my cold frame tonight and I found two cabbage worms in my lettuce. I'll never be able to check all the lettuce each morning like I'm doing the cabbage! What's up with these little green buggars this year?????????
