Sue, that is a wonderful wonderful story! If it's okay with other farmgirls, I'm going to be generous here and say it weighed 1000 lbs. I asked the hubsters what he thought and he agreed with that approximate amount.

2429.5 lbs......and counting!

Sue,
What a terrific story!!!!
I hope you realize that it was more than corn that you were giving away. You changed people's lives that day and now those people know that there are others who care about them and want them to be well and healthy.
Bless you
Michele

Michele, you are so right on about how it changes people's lives. It shows them that there are still good, caring people even when times are tough for everyone right now. Keeps up one's spirit to keep going. She was their angel for the day. Bless you Sue.

Mavens, let's keep this giving going.

We are doing so well. Remember: we have until September to do this as a challenge but I completely encourage you to keep it up all year long. I want to make it to 5000lbs so bad. All of your names have went into a basket for a unique farmgirl drawing as well!

Dawn, I wish we had the luck you have had in your garden. We will be pulling out the tomatoe plants next week to hang and hopefully ripen. The corn and squash are done. Nothing left but pumpkins as the cucs never did go any further than a vine. Cheryl gave about 45 pounds of squash away today also. Not much you can do with that much. The unfortunate thing is there will be no heirloom seeds to save other than my radish.

Dawn ... add to your totals another 25 # tomatoes, 10 # peppers, 5# cabbage .... that totals 40 more pounds from my garden plus 7 dozen eggs. I am having a wonderful time giving my garden bounty away and watching the faces of those receiving it. Thanks again for this challenge.

Good Morning ladies! We are up to.......

3030 lbs. and still have 25 days left in September. If your garden is anything like mine, it's probably getting exhausted..... the garden, not you....although, I AM exhausted! I too, will be pulling up my tomato plants. Not so that they can ripen, but so that I may compost them. We've went tooooo long without rain here in Ohio and things are drying up quick. Even my pumpkin vines are starting to dry. I may be carving green pumpkins. lol....

Good luck ladies! We may actually make it to 5000!

Rene' thank you. I cried when I saw it, actually Jerry saw it first and showed it to me. Funny how he reads the mag before I do.

I'm still donating tomatoes. Going into Ashland almost once a week now to drop off. Gail with your total and mine (tomatoes and potatoes) were up to....

4000 lbs.

I am humbled and honored at all of you. There are no words that describe the fullness of my heart. Thank you. Stay tuned for my next challenge....coming up Sept 30.
