Well ladies- I worked REALLY REALLY hard this weekend. I pressure washed my house, planted the garden, washed windows and scrubbed walls. Plus I did all of the "normal" dishes, laundry etc. etc.
While I was pressure washing the deck I broke a 4 gal crock- split it right in half. I moved it into the kitchen, I was going to glue it together and plant something in it. Well I didn't glue it last night like I inteded to instead I sat down and took a breather- that was a big mistake. This morning I took my shower and walked into the kitchen and smacked right into thr broken crock- 4 gal redwing!
Up to the ER 10 stitches in my right shin/calf area. What a way to start out a Tuesday

Thank GOD I'm a Country Girl!

No!!!! That's just too terrible...but it does sound like something I have done (or will do )

Here's hoping you have a few nice pain pills and a nice cushy place to prop up your leg! Poor you!

Only Advil for the pain- I try to stay away from the hard stuff. I was only 1 hour late for work. We are short staffed today because of the long weekend. So, I have a box under my desk to propp up my leg and some chocolate milk. I should do just fine 'till 5:00pm. the chocolate milk is my picker upper. When I get home tonight I'm going to show that crock- it'll be glued by 5:30 and something fun planted in it a little later- ha!

Who could wait until 5:30 to do the job I was suppose to do last night?? I went home at lunch- took a look at that darn old crock, cleaned it up a bit- took a little skin off, washed her up nice and super glued her back together! She should be ready to hold some wonderful Geraniums and Ivy. Ten days and I will get my stitches out- the gash is a bout 3 inches long and not much pain- whew made it thru! Boy did my daughters step right up to help- Katie my 17 yr old "demanded" that she take me to the ER and Natalie my 12 yr old cleaned up at home! I am very blessed!

Oh, that must of hurt like the dickens! I have to say that is something right up my alley to do! I could trip over a feather with no trouble. I am glad you are not in much pain. You'll have to post a picture when you get the flowers planted in it!

Wow, I'm so sorry you had to get stitches! Isn't that just what happens when we procrastinate even a little? Did the ER people laugh at you when you told them what happened?

The ER doc came in and asked what happenend- he said that the nurses told him and then he needed to get my story. I said that I was pressure washing the deck on Monday and broke a crock- he said stop all I had to hear was the word "crock"- boy I'll tell you about that darn ol' crock!
I did tell the hospital staff to laugh about it all day long- because that was what I did!!

Ouch! Who would think a piece of kitchenware would be so dangerous?

My mom dropped a vase on her foot last summer and had to have stitches (open toed shoes, of course). I tell you, I try to be a lot more careful in the kitchen these days!
