I have a 9 foot by 5 foot bed that gets filtered sun in the afternoon and evening...what can I grow in it? I would love to grow something edible in it but I am not sure what grows well without direct sun. It is 8 inches deep over compacted soil and if all else fails I can fill it with hostas and ferns.
Thanks, Rebekka

Lemonbalm, chives, parsley and rosemary can all handle partial shade. Radishes, cauliflower, broccoli, beans and some lettuce can all survive on less than 5 hours sun per day.

Thanks Julie- The only thing I have planted right now is rosemary and I have broccoli and bean seedlings looking for a home. I am glad to hear I can fill it up with edibles;)
