C'mon over Jessie - Washington's a pretty neat place. When my daughter moved back east (NYC - horrors) she was shocked that almost no one recycles!! She lived in Seattle while going to school and they practically serve vegan fare at McDonalds....eastern Washington is more conservative but still a great place to hang your hat.

I think I'd pick Prince Edward Island and search out all of the places in the L.M. Montgomery books.

I would love to go to Scotland and Ireland and get a border collie, but I lived in Ireland for awhile, so I've done that... While I'd like to go back, PEI is tops on my list for now.

I would go back to my home in Nebraska. I love it there. I would visit with relatives that I seldom see, visit the cemetery where my wonderful grandparents and my father was laid to rest. It is an ordinary travel and not exotic.

Thank you for asking such a wonderful question.

I would love to go back to Iceland - my oldest son and I went for two weeks and it felt like I found home. It was the strangest experience because it was like the land was calling my soul.

A place I have not been but I know I need to be there is Nepal - it is another place that calls to my soul and fits so into what I do that I know in someway a part of me is waiting for me to come.

England - for Stonehenge and then on to Ireland and Scotland just to look around and dig into my roots. Then on to Spain, Rome, Greece - I am such a big ancient history buff it's pathetic.

I'm back in Massachusetts now---but a sincere invite to any of you to visit me in New Delhi India when I go back in October.....will be there til April. Its a great palce to visit and load up on materials. We could shop til we drop.

Have a good day.

Hey, Joannie -- does this come with free farm sitting? If so, I'd probably go to Newfoundland, or maybe just start at the tip of Hwy. 1 in Maine, then head back down South, slowly going through all the antique shops along the way!

A BEACH!!
Anywhere I won't awaken to snow. Yet again, today we had a couple inches of snow. So a nice warm, sunny white sand? beach with palm trees, turquiose 80 degree water with brightly coloured fish swimming around in. Oh, and a hammock and my ipod and a real margaritta, no mixes. The boyfriend can come if he catches some of those fish and makes a fire and cooks them for us.
Ahhhh.

smile, follow your heart and don't look back

Ooh, ooh,
Back to Paris!!!
I spent a week there with my DH before he passed away and it was the most romanic dream come true.
This city is truly the most romantic place in the world. It was our 30th e\wedding anniversary but we felt like young newlyweds. The food, the sites and the ambience of Paris just can't be matched.
The first time we entered Notre Dame I broke down sobbing because I never thought I would actually be there.
And no matter what you hear, I found the French people to be delightful!!!
However, if you are really the MAGIC travel fairy, I would like to be there with my DH again as it was somewhat bittersweet because we knew he only had a short time left.

StarMeadow sorry your grant fell through. I know it's difficult when disappointed to think that perhaps it's the way of the universe to keep you from harms way. I know that that is what I try to tell myself when something like that happens. Perhaps something even better is in store for you that you would have missed had you gone.

Thanks Sheri...another friend told me that today. I must be in the lowly half empty mode cause all I can think is my universe is just dropping another shoe on my head lest I get too "uppity" and think I might deserve something a little cool to happen. I've been really struggling with it since yesterday.

BUT....I'm meeting up with some MI farmgirls tomorrow for lunch...and we're all wearing aprons! So one can't be too blue with that to look forward to eh?

Thanks again for your thoughtful response!

What a fun question! I'd like to return to France, and would also love to visit friends in Australia, although I'd probably enjoy travel to just about ANYwhere! I've enjoyed reading everyone's responses.

I would go to heaven so I could have two more weeks with my mom and would have the chance to say goodbye. If that were not possible I would want to go on a art tour to see the famous paintings and scuptures of Rome, Paris & England.
