Beautiful! I saw our almost full moon on Fri nite I think. It came up over the hills, just like your pic. Just breath taking!

I didn't notice here, but thanks for showing, guess I missed a good one. But Maybe the NY moon wasn't doing the same thing anyway.

Beautiful pic, Mary Beth!

And, Jonni, you can't just throw out a remark like that and not back it up! What kind of "CRAZY" are we talking about here? Bet there's a juicy story somewhere in the comment!

Well, you know what they say about a full moon! I can always tell because on the day of a full moon, the telephone calls I get here at the office are totally out of left field. I mean TOTALLY. I work for an attorney, so you do have some ratio of whacko to the norm, but on full moon days, it's just insanity.

On Friday, I answered an unemployment "cold call". This lady was calling because she'd been let go, according to her employer, "for cause". She started out normal enough, but, it turns out, she determined that she was fired because of the "shadow people"--they were consistently misplacing items on her desk, thereby making it impossible to find simple reports and she couldn't turn in her work on time because she was missing information. But, see, this all started when Sadaam Hussein started listening to her phone lines and the US government thought she was incahoots with Iran.

THAT'S the kindof crazy I'm talkin' bout.

I'm really sorry I didn't pay attention to the phases of the moon when I worked in retail.

What did you tell the woman?

It happened there, too, Amie when I worked at Macy's...seriously. Also in the medical field. I can remember as a little girl my mom coming home from the surgeon's office where she worked saying, "I just KNEW it was a full moon!"...

I was very polite, but very matter of fact. I simply said, "well, it would be very difficult to prove your conspiracy theories, and honestly, the unemployment board wouldn't be interested in that. If they fight your unemployment claim, continue to go to your weekly appointments at the bureau and your former employer will eventually give in. She thanked me and off she went, down crazy street :)

I worked in a Pharmacy for ten years and as the low gal on the totem pole I worked Friday nights with my boss. We always came fully prepared for "full moon friday nights." There are many stories, which she has begged me to write into one of my novel,s but the one that stands out the most was the night that an elderly lady (whom we both dealt with frequently and knew quite well) came in complaining of a toe fungus. (Put your lunch down for a moment ladies). I led her to the fungal cream - and away from my pharmacist, whom I learned to protect from customers on these nights, but she came back to the counter with the cream, toe nail clippers and a box of bandages. She plopped her bare foot up on the counter and insisted on having my pharmacist come out from behind the counter into the lobby (with all of our other patients), cut off the offensive toenail and bandage it.

I met some of the greatest characters on full moon Friday nights!

You know, Mary Jane, I wanted to tell you what an awesome pic that is..the deep blue sky, the moon and rise. Awesome!!

Ugh, Amy...that's yucky! But, after my experience last night at the 24 hour Walgreens at 11:00 waiting for my husbands much needed prescription (he'd been to urgent care a few hours prior), I can TOTALLY see how freakish that could be. When the one gal said to the pharmacist, "Sir, I'm gonna throw up, where's the john????" Noone could hold me back from throwing myself on the mercy of the clerk to "hurry it up".

That is a beautiful picture :)

My husband and I love watching a Moonrise :) We get out our blankets (in cooler weather) and sit on our chaise lounges waiting for it :) Usually with a cup of decaf in hand.

Oh my goodness Joni that is like the funniest thing I've heard in a LONG time!!! My sister works in scheduling for 5 local diagnostic imaging offices and she's got some really good ones as well.

What a great picture of the full moon though!! According to the local old timers...once we pass full moon in May there will be no more frost!! Time to plant tomato's and peppers!!
