After the last 8 years having a salad bar ( AKA garden )for urban coons and possums and groundhogs ( in 3 years i trapped 108 coons and possums ) and rabbits and chipmunks and squirrels and strawberry loving birds ...meet Sadie . She very much likes to chase them . Here she is asleep after helping me plant stuff in garden . She also is rather good at chasing drug dealers too http://tribalwitch.blogspot.com/2009/04/gardening-is-hard-worknaptime.html
The critters live in the sewer systems thru town and travel that way..unreal isnt it . The more you would kill ..the more there would be to move in to replace them
Yes, I was seeing raccoons in the sewer system here a few years back. Don't know what happened, but they went away again. We seem to get an uprising of them every 10 years or so. It's completely surreal to see a raccoon's face looking at you out of the storm sewer (cutout in the curb in this town).
Hmm...raccoons in the sewer--that must be why my dog sometimes stops and sniffs at the sewer grate when I walk him. I always thought there must be a cat down there. But I could never see anything. We have one raccoon who comes out all the time in broad daylight--isn't afraid of people at all. he just sits there and stares at you. But a toy poodle chased him up a tree. Go figure. 108 raccoons is a lot. You city should hire you as pest control. then you could get paid for trapping them. Cindy
I have found out if you have one coon or possum you see..they are like roaches ..there will be a dozen hidden around the corner. The coons would hit the yard about 3 or 4 am and would always be 2 adults and 3 to 4 smaller ones .. Soon as you would trap all of that family..here comes another family . Coons would sit on my porch and look at me when i come outside ..and DONT get me started on the doz or so flop ear bunnies i have seen this year hopping all over the yards. People buy rabbits and turn them loose when they discover they are a pain to take care of and the kids wont do it...
