I'm so excited! I found a thrift store on my way to Wally World which is the ONLY store we have around here. I have followed Nancy Jo's blog and postings and LONGED for a thrift store near me and finally found one! All their profits go to a pregnancy help center so it lessens the guilt when I buy stuff! LOL! I've taken stuff and donated to them also. Check what I bought this week and in weeks past. I was having trouble with my ISP so I haven't been posting much lately and now I'm playing "catch up"! Did any of you hit auctions or garage sales or thrift stores this week now that the weather is warming up this is truly "the season"? I also just got a booth at a new flea market that opened here so now my house, hopefully won't explode from bringing stuff in and not taking things out! Whew! I was getting concerned.

Thanks Karen! I was thinking about stopping cuz Nancy Jo is about the only person that ever stops by. Although not everyone makes a comment. Thank you so much for telling my that...it's MOTIVATIONAL!

Hi Sandra and Nancy, I am envious, I stopped at our local thrift stores and I sure haven't gotten as lucky as you two have done. I guess I should just keep trying, and Sandra your quilt blocks are gorgeous!!! Do you like paper piecing? Is it hard to do? Toni

oh Sandra, I love your pictures of the Dogwood trees...I so miss them. I found that they do grow here but they are a different variety of DW....but I just might give it a try none the less.

Toni...yes I like the paper piecing...well...some of it. I can't seem to get it all done in class and then I come home and I can't remember what they told me! LOL! So, if I could remember I know I would enjoy it more! It's like everything else....once you KNOW how to do it and have done it yourself then you like it....it's the "not knowing" what I'm doing that is difficult.
As for the "thrift finds"...yes, you need to stop on a regular basis I think. You won't always find something but when you do..OH what a feeling! I just love a good deal and feel I am saving money...my whole house is decorated with "others" stuff. I have never bought a new piece of furniture in my life...I'm not sure I would know how? Thanks for looking at my blog! I appreciate it.

I went to the thrift bookstore here today. Goodwill has a cozy little bookstore in what was once a corner
gas station. But now it has wooden shelving, plants, music, a great children's room, and books, books, books! They also have a nice little display of vintage treasures up near the cash register. I got two books, Christian novels, and I am going back to peruse the vintage shelf soon.

Sandra - glad you are finding treasures! NAncy Jo- you need to write a book on thrifting! You are an expert.

You could call your book Thrifters Gone Wild. :)

Jeannie.....great idea about the book and I LOVE the tittle! LOL! I LOVE books too and I always check out the book section and furniture. It's really hard to collect a lot of furniture though....it's BIG and I can't buy as much of it. Sounds like you found a really neat shop...atmosphere and all. We should take pictures of our thrift shops and share them...I always wonder what Nancy Jo's thrift shop looks like.
She could give seminars too and maybe take it on the road! You GO Nancy Jo!!!!! (She's my mentor when it comes to "thrifting").
