Getting my coffee down me and satisfying my 'net urge before we head out to sign for the house. I'm so excited and yet kind of afraid at something new. Seems like I don't 'do' new stuff very well anymore.

We think we have the 5th wheel sold. Were going to keep it but it's so big, it's hard to move. It's the size of a small, small house. So when when a friend said she'd like it, we thought we better jump while the iron is hot and can buy a smaller runabout travel trailer. That money will help us move and get settled.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Winona

Congratulations! It's hard to make a commitment to something new, but it sounds like this is going to be a good thing.

Thank you!! Welp, we don't have the money for the 5th wheel yet so it's in 'sorta sold' state right now...*fingers crossed*

Also, a strange thing today. We got to the house to signe the paperwork and there was a credit check thing. Ok, that's fine...till it came to the part about how much money we had in savings, checking, stocks and something else. Wanted to know which bank(s) and what are the account numbers. Um, no. We left those blank. Also, wanted to know if we couldn't pay the rent, who would it be that would pay it for us! ???!! Say, what?? Needed name and phone number too. Is that normal?? Shoot no I'm not going to fork that info over!

So, as far as we know, it's still a go. We took some stuff with us and left it there. If they turn us down due to the above, it's not a big deal to lose that stuff, it's a far way over there and not worth going back after. We still have the 5th wheel and can stop the check if needs be. My hubby says if it wasn't fine, they would have told us and it would have been off but I'm such a worry wart and suspicious that I can't help but be concerned.

Our friends have already found us some jobs and we have the number to call the guy so it's not like we can't or won't pay. Just seems strange to me but then again, I've been on the road for the last 7 years and haven't had to deal with this stuff. Still not going to tell strangers my private stuff, not even for a house!!

Nope, just renting. Prices are too high to buy right now. Friends that own are downsizing as fast as they can.

Welp, after the fiasco about selling the 5th wheel (see other post), we decided that if we have to keep it, we will keep it and sell it somewhere down the line. Have to get things out of the shelves and pack them on the floor so nothing falls out or tips over. We have the locking doors but need paper between my plates and canned goods down.

Anywho, as far as we know, everything is a go and we have to have our storage room cleaned out by the first so we have a job ahead of us.

It has bothered me somewhat that it seems that everywhere we've lived, we live there about 2 years, give or take and then move for some reason (like a job, never evicted...wanted to clarify that). So I was thinking that maybe I don't want to move if we are going to move in 2 years as I'm wanting a home, trying to contain my wanderlust. Hubs said we can rent this house for as long as we want and he's really good at coming up with deals on things by getting to know people and beating the bushes. Like got this huge home for less than normal rent due to knowing someone who knew someone. That sort of thing. He promised me that the next time we move, it will be to our owned home when and if we want to do that.

Someone explained to me that renting is preferable to them cuz the landlord takes care of the insurance and something goes wrong, hubs can fix it but the landlord provides the parts. I'm not so sure about that part as I'm just the kind that likes to own everything but we've never been settled enough to own...now we are. Trying to look at it as a baby-step to ownership. I don't think this house will ever be up for sale unless we buy the whole ranch but we don't have 12 million dollars lying around!! hehehe...
