Step away from the evil and mega toxic ROUNDUP and stop killing your dandylions!!! Eat them. They are one of the most special flowers on earth as you get healing and nutrition from every part of them. check out:

http://www.all4naturalhealth.com/dandelion-herb.html

So on this wonderful Earth Day go pick some dandylions (French for dent de leon, lion teeth) and have a salad, them pick some flowers, make some wine and celebrate one of natures perfect foods.

happy earth day xr

Right on, sister! I love them. They are all over my place. I just saw a comercial for round up and of course what they use is dandylion. I just want to cry. It not only kills those but everything it touches. It is an awful poison.

And such a pretty picture.

Hi, I have dandelions all over the yard, I just love seeing that sunny little flower, I also have chickweed, violets and other goodies. sadly I also have all the neighborhood doggies wandering through my yard. I'm afraid to eat anything until I get the yard fenced. kinda like eating the yellow snow, ya know?? LOL.

I'm going to start some in pots until I can get a fence up, already started chickweed(the cat loves it).

I do hope folks with start eating all those lovely weeds instead of poisoning them and the earth. I do love the dandylion picture. blessings Phyllis

Love that painting, Rosemary. In fact, I love ALL your paintings. The rooster is amazing. And the dog ones are great, too.

We make a dandelion syrup each spring that we use on pancakes or on cornbread and we even pick the heads, wash them up good, and bread them and fry them like you would mushroom tops.
The recipe I use to make the syrup can be found at

Thanks Kriss and Janice,
I love to paint! Flowers, animals, they're my favoriteI may put some of my small rooster/chicken paintings for sale on the marketplace area.
The snow has melted and I am keeping an eye out for some dandylions, but so far I haven't found any. I'd like to try Patty's syrup, and frying them. mmmm, maybe even batter dipped! I might just have to drive down to town where it's warmer and see if they're out yet there.

When I met my adopted daughter 20 years ago ( on Mother's Day) she came up to me with a handful of Dandelions, a precious smile that only a 4 year old can have and asked "Will you be my new mommy?" So needless to say Dandelions are a welcome flower in my gardens. Everytime I see them I smile. When people ask me why I say because it is Kate's flower!!!!

My 4 year old granddaughter told me the other day. "Look at all your pretty flowers grandma" and she was talking about dandylions. So I just love them. What else would give a 4 year old so much pleasure to pick such a nice bouquet!!!
