Has anyone had experience with the semi pre-made log homes

www.whispercreekloghomes.com

We are tossing around the notion of doing one of these and we haven't found anything negitive about them, online but nothing all that positive either.. we are trying to decide if it will be cost effective or if we should build from the ground up, or if a modular would save us money by getting us in there faster.. but I'm a little unsure on the resale and the hardiness of them.

What have your experiences been with the option you chose, and how many unexpected expenses arose? are you happy with what you got? if it was a modular, is it holding up with the wear and tear of daily use?

Thanks!

Bobbi

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive.

My uncle lives in a pre-maid log cabin, and he LOVES it. Him, 3 boys, 1 girl,a dog,a cat and a pet rat. He's also lived in a modular home, and he didn't like that as much. Granted the new modulars are beautiful but, I dont think it will matter much in the long run about the money if your not happy with your home. Your going to have to LIVE there, my ma awlays says "ya better love it or I'm making you wear it anyway." Usually shes talking about boots or clothing of some sort but I think it applies here too...

;)

Good Luck!

A girlfriend of mine is an architect and lives in a modular home and loves it! We are currently building a home on our land and are having it stick built. We hired a contractor. We built our last home too and enjoyed every minute of it.
