We have done this a few times and it always seems to be pretty inspirational and motivational!
Today so far in addition to feeding and taking care of Nora, I have: Unpacked a HUGE box from the move, Dusted my book shelf Re-organized the bookshelf Vacuumed the Living room Started a load of laundry Sorted through 6 sacks of clothes from friends and family Shampooed the carpet in the living room and hallway. Got some things moved to the upstairs office that needed to be out of the living room. Stuck a roast in the crock pot Took the vacuum out to the garage/workshop to continue cleaning in there- I think I ruined the new belt I just put on today! Dang! Washed some curtains Started another load of laundry Dealt with the Supreme Tempertantrum at 4pm (this is becoming a routine)

So my little list consists of Making lunch Washed 2 loads of laundry Watched Hubby feed the goats from the window!! Took a Nap Made my two week's menu and shopping list Paid 4 bills And then of course the normal care of 3 kids! Yeah, not so impressive but hopefully I'll start feeling better soon and then I'll be able to get back at it!!! |

I finally got the milk room cleaned and ready for goats! I have wanted to do this for the past several weeks and finally got motivated. I bleached down all the stanchions and the floors. Oh and I trimmed all 6 goat's feet, too. I also started on an embroidery project while I was goat sitting outside. Now I am cooking turnip greens and field peas for dinner and will start pork chops and corn soon.
I can't seem to get any house work done today. It's too pretty outside. Maybe tomorrow when it's raining.

Alee you said this has been good in the past for motivation and inspiration...I don't feel like I can contribute to this one, I am struggling today to get anything done. I am working my way through the house sweeping and cleaning but well here I am putting it off by checking in here. You girls all shame me when I look at your lists for the day. I can't even blame it on spring fever, it's not spring out there today! I could be in real trouble when it really gets here...Debbie

Today so far I have:
Walked the four dogs three times each (too wet and muddy for them to play in their run) Knit on a lace shawl (which I've been procrastinating on, and which is important for my health and sanity!) Caught up on my audiobook - "The Forgotten Garden" Soaked up the rays of my SAD light (it is very dull and gloomy here today!) Cleaned out the box stall where DH had the bright idea to raise the meat chickens separately from the layers (and then forgot to clean it out himself) Cleaned out other husband messes in the goat barn; it's tidy :) Fed 24 goats, 3 donkeys, and the poultry Watered above Set the invasive sparrow trap Signed up to plant for/watch for bees at http://www.greatsunflower.org/ Gave the chickens scratch grain in weedy areas so they will dig up the weeds for me
It was a very light day for me and that was my goal - I've been overdoing things lately. I defrosted dinner but DH will be cooking, making the fire up, and taking care of the dogs this evening. I have a quilt project for a friend who is ill which I've been putting off for months. I need to re-fill my well so that I can be supportive of others.
Sometimes, we just have to make space for our own R&R! Today was that day for me.
KRIS, great job with the goats! Good for you!

Debbie-
Write down everything you have done today- even if it was as simple as wiping out the sink with a rag or feeding the dog. You will really see how those little tasks add up and that is where the inspiration really comes in!

Today was a BAD day! All three kids are sick with a cold which is making them cranky and the baby is also getting a tooth in so his gums are so swollen and I can tell it is hurting him a lot. So besides the little things like getting the kids dressed, fed, baby changed and nursed I didn't do anything on the house. I did run to Wal-mart with the kids to get motrin for the baby and dish soap and laundry soap. Bath time is soon to be over so I plan to go fold a load of laundry and then put the baby to bed. I pray that tomorrow goes better! Thanks for starting this thread up Alee, it does inspire me and I'll post tomorrow what I was able to get done! -Elizabeth |

Aww poor kiddos, Elizabeth! I hope they feel better tomorrow!
I am going to be watching my niece tomorrow while my sister runs errands in Billings, so I might not do much tomorrow.

These topics sometimes make me feel terrific, like I've accomplished a lot. And sometimes they make me feel like a slacker. :)
Today I... Packed a lunch for my hubby Washed the sink full of dishes Fed and watered my pet chickens Opened the greenhouse and watered the plants in there. Went to work for 9 hours, where I did lots of stuff. :) After work, I sat down for a few minutes and caught up on a couple of websites. Then I planted a row of artichokes. Spread mulch along half of the raspberry bed. Sat outside in my swing for a while enjoying the beautiful starry/cloudy night. Finally got dinner on the table around 9. Had a good chat with my husband. Now I'm relaxing for a few minutes before bed.
Though, I should be cutting up seed potatoes.

Today started off really slow as the kids are still sick and grumpy and I am as well. I was able to take a nap and a bubble bath all alone though and now my energy has returned. I *Made a vegetable pizza for lunch *swept the kitchen floor and put some bags of groceries away from yesterday *folded a load of towels and have another load of laundry in the dryer and one in the washer *vacuumed the living and dining rooms and picked up all the toys *Priced a box of stuff for a garage sale coming up in two weeks *off to make spaghetti for supper -Elizabeth |

We had beautiful weather today - finally!! We went to Cabela's and bought a fire ring and put in a fire pit in our backyard. I'm looking forward to using that this evening. Then I did some yard work, made muffins, hung out a load of clothes, and just made sandwiches for dinner. A nice relaxing sunny Sunday!

Today is sunny and in the 50's so I have the windows open and so far: *made breakfast *Changed all three kids into their clothes *Hung out one load of towels *Put one load of clothing into the dryer and have another load of towels in the washer which I will be hanging outside *Put one load of clothing away and sorted through my dresser to find things for the garage sale *Washed the kitchen and bathroom floor *Cleaned the bathroom vanity and cleaned the mirrors *Washed the kitchen and bathroom mats and hung on the porch railings to dry *Heated up leftovers for lunch *Changed the baby and nursed him Now I need to pick up the dining room and living room and vacuum. When hubby gets home we will run to Wal-mart for some manure for the garden beds and then I want to plant the onions, radishes, turnips, and strawberry plants. |

When the little ones aren't feeling well it takes twice as long to do anything!
Today I:
Had to break out the carpet cleaner after my kitty threw up all over my daughters bedroom! Fun!
Decided might as well clean the other carpet while it is out
Multiple times had to referee arguments between my two youngest kids
Went to the grocery store (for a kitty brush and hairball remedy!)
Cleaned the kitchen and did a load of dishes
Made homemade laundry soap.... yea me!
Did a few loads of laundry AND folded them
Sat down and watched a show with my kids while contemplating if I ACTUALLY needed to COOK dinner!
Checked out the forum for ideas
The worst part? When my husband gets home from work he is only going to notice what I didn't do! So writing it here made me feel like I did do something!
Thanks for starting the topic Alee! Oh... and don't worry too much about the ultimate tantrums. Just wait for preteen hormones! That is where my daughter is lately. Oh the "drama"! :)

Fun thread...at the END of a day, lol. It's nice being able to look back on things accomplished, but thinking about this at the beginning of the day would be TOO much!!
So today I...
--> Woke up at 6:30 --> Got ready for work & made breakfast -- fried eggs, biscuits & coffee -- YUM --> Worked my morning job -- dog grooming assistant --> Off work...drove 20 min to my new apartment --> Rough drafted tentative remodel plans for entryway & closets --> Primed walls for an hour and a half... --> Came home, ate lunch & checked emails :) --> Went to my afternoon job....Came home..... --> Cleaned the cat boxes --> Did a load of laundry --> Took out the trash --> Unloaded & reloaded the dishwasher --> Cleaned the bathroom --> BUBBLE BATH & FRESH POT OF COFFEE --> And here I sit....preparing to... --> Head BACK out to the apartment for MORE priming, cleaning, etc.
THEN when I get home...I need to sew dog bandanas for work tomorrow. :)
And I REALLY want to read today's paper and clip coupons from yesterday.......... :-/
