I have no idea if this is the right place to post this question, but I figured it's thriftier to try sharpening my old ones, instead of buying more, so here I am. So, can you sharpen a seam ripper, and if so, how? I have a good half dozen of them ,and I can never find the sharp one when I need it! Thanks Ladies~

Hmmm...don't know that it's the right method, but I have been known to poke them in the little needle sharpening that hangs on the side of the pin cushion...emery boards have done the trick to. (I get one I don't care about ruining bend it to match the curve and slide repeatedly at an angle in one direction.
Hope this helps!

My dad gave me a little file, that was a cylinder, about the size of a matchstick that I use to sharpen mine. I'm not sure what it was really for but he was an auto mechanic, so maybe that's where you'd find one. It worked really well.

There is something called emery cloth which is similar to sandpaper, but used on metal. It's also sold in a sheet. |
