hi, this is my first post/question to pose to you all out there... as i placed my order today for seeds, i was dreaming of my garden and thinking good positive thoughts. unfortunately, weeds, squash bugs and blight entered my mind. so i am wondering if old bed sheets would make a good weed blocker in rows in the garden. it bothers me to buy the black pseudo paper each year by the roll to place in our garden. has anyone had luck with sheets blocking weeds or do you have any other reusable suggestions? i am honored to be part of this connection.
Haven't used bedsheets -- have used newspaper (thick sections laid down and covered with mulch or compost to hold into place. And at the beginning of the new season, I just ask my neighbors to save their papers for me. Nothing to store over winter!
Oh, I hope someone says yes! I was planning to use some of my fabric stash that I never have time to sew into anything! It'll save me from buying weed-blocker and clean out my storage area as well! I just hope it works! :)
