I ventured forth today with vinegar and water in my cleaning bucket.

I just LOVE how everything sparkled even without having to buff with paper towel...but the whole family remarked about the smell!

Am I using too much vinegar? I went half hot water half vinegar....

You shouldn't have any scent at all left when dry. I use straight vinegar most the time, and I have no scent at all in my home, it is so weird that you would have a scent.

Once it's dry you should have no smell at all except for fresh. When I mop the floors I put a bunch of hot water in a bucket and pour in about a cup of vinegar. If it smells so bad you may want to try 1/4 vinegar mixture to 3/4 water. Really, my house smells soooo fresh after I mop with vinegar and no one would guess what I clean with so maybe your mixture is too strong. Or they were commenting about it when it was still wet.

I would use less...about a cup of white vinegar to a gallon of hot water is plenty. Hopefully when it is all dry it will just smell fresh!

I agree with the others- Vinegar might smell strong when wet but it leaves a sweet fresh smell behind when dried. Perhaps use less or see if anyone notices a few hours later.
