I have found several ways to check important posts here on the forum, because I always wonder what I might have missed!!!!
Of course I begin with the list of four that is on the homepage.
Then I click on active topics.
Then I go to Members, and check the recent posts of my favorite farmgirls.
Then I go and check on most recent posts under Members by clicking on the column that provides a list beginning with the most recent post.....and from there I can see what has posted most recently, even if it did not show up in the other places.
I also go up to the place that gives a drop down menui to ask if you want to see what has been posted in the last few hours, or days.....not just since you last logged on.
Sometimes, when I am missing a certain farmgirl, I search for her by screen name.
How do you navigate this site so that you get to see what is going on?

Shirley I pretty much do the same thing. I usually follow those members blogs as well. I am retired and work around my computer so I do spend quite a bit of time here. I love to read other peoples blogs. I hit the garden forum, across the fence, farm kitchen stitch & craft and barn buddies first then as any of the four posts appear on the home page. I do housework, cooking, baking, sewing around the computer so it's kind of my life line..while I am here waaiting for springtime planting garden when that happens I wont be here as much.. but will be on early (6- 6:30)in the morning i usually go off line around 8 Pm that's kind of my routine, coffe, stir sourdough & read these posts about what everyone is doing...

I do the same too, and if I've not been on in awhile I'll go back some pages of posts in my favorite areas.

it seems like everybody has a method. i've been away for a while, so i just cruise around reading what ever catches my eye. there is no way i could completely catch up.

I usually just use the active topics button. If someone has been missing I do check on them in the members page. Lately most of my time has been spent on the Bread The MAryJane Way thread! I must have logged about a million posts on that thread alone! HAHA!

I use active topics...but like you, sometimes I go to a few of my favorites names and see what they are up to as well.

I finally went to the tips page and that's where I found information about how to navigate. It took me a couple of weeks to remember to use the subscribe button; I'm a slow learner -smile-.
The subscribe button is my first choice but then I like to see the hot topics. I'm all for learning something different; a new way to keep up. I'm a low tech geek so it's a challenge.
