Very very well done toast with just a little butter. The burnt thing is a great stomach calmer. Little bites, eat it slow. I like burnt toast even when I feel fine.

If you can stomach it, try some yogurt with active cultures- Cascade Fresh or Brown Cow yogurts are great. Stay away from ones that have high fructose corn syrup in it as that can cause stress on your body.

When the kids were little the pediatrician called it the BRAT diet - bananas, rice, applesauce and toast - for kids getting over the stomach flu. I prefer saltines. My husband had it over the weekend so I am hoping the rest of us don't get it. Washing my hands very few minutes and sanitizing everything......... Sue in Richland WA |

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well. I get migraines often and am usually sick to my stomach also and a friend told me to try a few sips of regular coke. It sure does the trick for me and my children.
Hope you feel better! |

Tina, my mom used to get coke syrup from the pharmacy when I was little and give me a teaspoon or two when my stomach was upset. Now a days I let coke sit out and go flat and let my DD sip on that SLOWLY. I also now usually keep charcoal tablets on hand, it really helps with a sour tummy. We also keep colloidal silver 500ppm on hand to fight off the viruses. We get it through Herbal Healer Academy (HHA), their website is : www.herbalhealer.com The colloidal silver is a bit spendy we usually get a quart $200.00 about once every 2 years sometimes more often. I give small bottles to friends that stop over and mention they are getting sick. We use it for stomach problems like food poisoning and when we feel a cold or flu coming on also. I even used it topically on my DS shingles on his back as well as internally. The doctor said it was good and I was clearing them up just fine.
Didn't mean to ramble, but this stuff works for our family and friends so I try to promote it when I can. It's better then getting a prescription from the doctor, in which, they get kickbacks.

I had this about a month ago. Still not too keen about pizza since that was the last thing that got eaten when it hit.
The sickies lasted a little over 12 hours, but it took about a week to finally even start to THINK about eating. And when I did, it made me feel sick all over again.
Then duh, I made myself eat some yogurt and voila!
So when the stomach bug hits and you get past the sick part, remember to put the good bugs back in. Did the
AND, to prevent others from getting it too. You are contageous for 24-28 hours after it passes, so continue to stay home.
Hope you are back on your feet very soon! |

Tina, sorry you're feeling bad. I am going to suggest you drink ginger tea. It is a great aid in stomach problems. If you can find ginger root, that is better. Just cut up a little in a pot of water and steep about 10 minutes then strain out the ginger. Add a little bit of honey. It's great. That's all my GD could keep down when she had a gastrointestinal virus.
Also to get your good gut bacteria going again you should try to find some good organic Kefir. It's full of great bacteria to get the gut working after a stomach bug. We drink it all the time. Plus good buttermilk. I just add a touch of honey to sweeten it up a bit and drink it like a smoothie.
Hope you are back to normal soon. Kris
