Rhonda, what a wonderful little girl you have! So much personality! You can tell she really loves to get her hands in her garden (and her garden all over her!) So precious! I can't wait to see the next one!

Rhonda - Caroline is too precious! Love those black bead eyes. Her lil' nose looks darker than the face - is the fabric still on her face but pinched or did you add a tetch more dye to the nose area?? Just adorable!! sandi

What a cutie.
I am still not figuring out how to post the photos so you can see them right here without going to another site.

I am going to try one more attempt to get a photo here. Hope this works. This is Elizabeth Marie, for my mother. Eileen
Hmm? That didn't work. Has anyone else tried this with snapfish? I put the url between the IMG and IMG and it shows up on the original post but not when I hit post reply?
Might be easier for me to post them to my blog and send you there.

Good morning! Thank you all for your kind words for my babe. I'm looking forward to stitchin' up another one this week!

Sandi, I did indeed make little Caroline's nose a bit darker than the rest of her face! It just seemed lost. After I stain a doll, but while it's still damp, I like to put a bit of watered down acrylic paint (in this case a very dark brown) on my hands & "play" with her-handling the doll where small hands would have naturally touched. When you are adding wear, think about the places it would natually occur and that is where you should sand or add stain. A random tear or stain is nice too-those things DO happen in life!

For those of you having trouble adding photos...I use a site called photobucket. It's free and will resize pictures for you automatically. You might try using that. I always seem to have trouble with snapfish-can't even view other people's photos!

Junebug, you can add the limbs before or after stuffing-your preference. I think the easiest way is to stuff the body, then attach the limbs. If you want to do that, just leave a small opening near the bottom of the body to turn & stuff-then stitch that closed by hand after stuffing. I like to do it this way, sewing the limbs on by hand afterwards. You can turn the rough edge on the limbs to the inside before sewing if they bother you. Since this is not a "fussy" doll I just let the raw edge show.

Lets see some more babies ladies!

Blessings,
Rhonda

Here's the doll I made! Her name is Lollie Joy and her rabbits name is Mr. Whiskers!

I want to take the time to dispell the myth that she looks like a Cajun Shrimp. Any likeness to any cajun shrimp is purely incidental and was not intentional. No Cajun Shrimp were harmed in the making of this doll...but I am craving some gumbo.

Images pop in a new window.

I love this doll, Luzy! Maybe you could fix her up with the funny little shrimp guy Muppet. He'd be crazy about her.

Rhonda - thanks for the tips on staining & how to show wear-n-tear on a dollie. Can't wait to get my own in the works - right now I'm just weeks away from eldest daughter's wedding - it's the first in our family and my staff of me-myself-and-I is feeling a little taxed right now! Will be wonderful to get the big event behind us and my creating life back to norm! sandi
