Recipes for homemade laundry soap is easy to find. What about a homemade recipe for fabric softener? I'm ashamed to say :) that I love using perfumed fabric softeners. My mother never did, but my grandma always did, so for me the smell reminds me of going to Grandma's house.

Anyone know of any recipes?

Adding vinegar to the rinse cycle works great.....and you can scent it with EO's.

I use lavender in a little muslin sack......and throw it in the dryer (closed, of course.....LOL)

I would love to know the answer to this too. I hate when my clothes are stiff as a board when I take them off the line, but I am severly allergic to perfumed/ store bought fabric softeners of any kind.

I do the vinegar also. I put it in the place the fabric softener is supposed to go, so it gets put into the rinse cycle on it's own.
