That is bad!! He should be shot, but with something that would remind him that you and his mother are probably totally not alike at all and would never want the same thing. I would never let mine live this one down! What was it?

I asked mine for a wheel barrow. Didn't get one. But he did get me the digital picture frame. It's pretty neat if I could just figure it out and not have to have my daughter do it for me. She has to do all our computer stuff and anything electronic. She's pretty handy.

Yeah, he owes ya big time! Don't let him get away with this.

Kristin, HE GAVE ME a digital picture frame! Oh, that made me laugh.

He bought one for his mom, didn't have time to load the pictures so guess who?

And then he gave me one without the pictures in it!

Of course on our first christmas, I received NOTHING.

I should be more grateful.

My first valentines day my hubby gave me nothing, I threw such a hissy fit ( now I am ashamed to say I did that) but I did , so he has never made that mistake again!!! But for other stuff I just figure out what I want and tell him so he will get me something. He just isn't good at that stuff and after 16 years together I figured that out a while ago, I just have to come out and tell him. I have to figure out what to get his mother every year or she would not get anything, so she doesn't get what I get ...hehehehehehehe

We went to walmart and I put what I wanted in a cart and handed it to my hubby then went to the car while he checked out so I didn't see what he bought! But that's just the way my hubby is and I accept it and have learned to find it kind of cute. I could leave it up to him and be upset or I can take care of it and know I'm getting something I want!

Oh you girls have made me giggle. Men is right. Mine gave me 20 dollars the day after Christmas, he forgot Christmas day. but it was to go to the quilt store. He scores points. He does pretty good most of the time. On the forgetting part, I give him credit, we have been without water for over a week because of crazy pipes freezing and then refreezing. We haven't had this problem before...ughhh. So he had every right to forget.....lol

My husband is hovering around waiting for his turn at the computer, so I made him read this. He looked at me blankly and said, "But she got a digital picture frame. What's the problem?"

He got it after he thought about it for a few minutes. But I guess it's just the male way of thinking.

I'm sorry, Jo, but I had to laugh. That is just how men think. "Wow! Cool gift! Shopping done." I'm married to one just like him. After 27 years, I fully understand that he is the way he is and I can either adapt or be hurt all the time. So, adapt I have! This year he did just as I asked- gave me a coupon for a certain money amount with the title- "To Be Used For Seeds". I've been going through the SeedSavers catalog the past few days making my list! I am a happy girl. :)

I'm glad I'm over it now, I just went and turned it on. He is an otherwise perfect husband, and I'm glad he's mine.

But gee is he a dummy sometimes.

Mine got mad at me the other day because my sheep were out in the hay field (they are ALWAYS in the hay field!). He actually YELLED at me and told me to build a new fence!!! I told him I'D build a new fence if HE knitted ME a sweater!!! That shut him up REAL quick!

I told him when we first put the fence up that it would NOT keep the sheep and goats in (it's about 3ft tall), but he wouldn't listen. And one strand of hotwire does NOT work on sheep. Also, fence posts 30ft apart do NOT keep goats from working the fencing loose! GRRRRRRR!!!!! Why ARE men so stupid? Guess that's another of God's great mysteries..... (LOL!!) ~~~ Tracy

Now, now, ladies....men aren't all that bad. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't get the trash put out or the plumbing in the house fixed!

Seriously, though, let's try to be forgiving. I'm sure they're out there right now wondering why we cry at the drop of a hat or why we nag them so much about every little thing

We didn't exchange any gifts this christmas. we rented two movies and a game and spent the day with the dog. It's about presence with a "C" not presents with a "T". Which was nice, so I said we should take some cute candid photos of us hanging out with the dog on christmas day, and he turned the game on and ignored me, so I got really upset and put the camera away and then he got made at me because I got upset, and he made me cry on christmas! ....:*( So we went to town and got a 6 pack of beer and another movie and it was all better....still no pictures though.

We're using our christmas money we got from others to go to the mountains for new years day.

I think the only men that are able to figure out what women really want for a gift are the guys in the movies on the Lifetime channel! But that's because they're men and we still love them. If you want something get it for yourself; its a lot easier!!!

Zan-- MY husband doesn't take out the trash, we have a toilet that's about to fall through the floor, and our bathtub was plugged up for nearly a WEEK before he decided to UN-plug it! (I tried several times with no success)

-- but you know what he IS? A MECHANIC! I guess that explains why I have a van that's been sitting for nearly 5 years needing a new tie-rod, and a Chevy Lumina that blew a head gasket that's still sitting where I parked it -- steaming and HISSING -- nearly THREE months ago!!! I am now driving a 1980-something V-8 Caddilac GAS HOG with a "Salvaged" title that's about on it's last legs. Every time I hit a bump, the radio either goes out-- or comes back on. The horn works.... SOMETIMES. The "Dinger" in the door works occasionally too, but not the one time (just a few weeks ago) that I locked the keys in the car and had to call a tow truck to break into it so I could go home!! Also, the windshield wipers are posessed. They go off when the feel like it, NOT when I want them to, and the headliner (which is PINNED to the roof) is raining little black pieces of foam so we can't even roll the windows down without it looking like a black snow flurry inside!

But, I suppose I shouldn't complain too much-- at least I DO still have a set of wheels-- even though one of them went flatter than a pancake (or maybe a crepe better describes it!) in the parking lot of Wal Mart (same place I locked the keys in the car!) just recently. The whole front end on the drivers side went "CLUNK". I've never seen a flatter tire! If that car were a ship out at sea we would have rolled over!!! Sigh....... but, then again... thank Goodness he's not a Plummer! (LOL!!!) ~~~ Tracy

What a great post! I am sure he thought it was a great gift. My oldest daughter swears that all the men of the earth share one brain cell - sometimes if you're real lucky, you get to talk with a guy who has been gifted with that brain cell for a short period of time.

Peace to you,

Sometimes I think We who have Sons really need to TRAIN them from day one to do all the things We girls find IMPORTANT.
I have to admit, My Son is exceptional. My son is a super husband and Daddy. (I know I am bragging here.) but It worked and the fact that I produced two younger sisters for him to grow up with too. Mama's start the lessons!
