Heather, these are fantastic! I have the envelope template on my Cricut, and I can use that as a base for these. Thanks for the great idea!!!

also check out:

http://alenkasprintables.com
for free printable seed packets, as well as tea bag & hot cocoa packets etc.
Once into the site click on 'free printables' in the left corner and then when it opens go to the right column, under misc, for the seed packets.
enjoy,

Heather, I shared about winter sowing on my blog but there are others that share about this as well. Oh Im so into Winter Sowing. I will start In Jan, fill coffee cans with holes , potting soil, plant the seeds, cover with plastic with more holes and just set outside and leave alone. come spring I will have a lush coffee can full of plants to put into the garden. i did 172+ containers last winter w/ thousands of plants. It was a very busy spring : ).

Thanks for seed packet link. I had not seen that yet. Those are nice.

I do Winter Sowing too -- when I get all those gardening catalogs full of glossy pages I use them to make seed packets. I've made a plastic template, I used the plastic lid from a coffee can, and I outline and then cut them out. I fold and tape and then I use sticky labels that I make on my computer with a picture of the flower or veggie, the cultivar and common name, and the date the seed was harvested. I save all of the little "do not eat" packets of dessicant you get in new stuff and put them with the seed packets in old cigar boxes.
Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you could make origami envelopes using the catalog pages. Here's a link for a pattern:

Kelly, what a great frugal farmgirl project and great way to recycle those old seed catalogs! I love it. You should post that whole idea over in Nifty Thrifty, too.

Heather, How cute are those seed packets? Wow! I have already printed a bunch and will be labeling and adding seeds. Going to start with cockscombs. A good February project. Thanks
