I feel most like a farmgirl when:

I hear that "pop" sound of canning jars sealing.

Picking blackberries on the hillside wearing my puddle jumpers (in case of snakes).

We're "checking for ticks".

Sitting on a rock cooling my tootsies in the creek.

I hear the sound of a creaky wood floor.
