Hey Amanda, I am reading the first book by Cindy Woodsmall, and now I see what you mean about it being a little tough to read at first. But I think I'm getting past the tough part now... but I like the way this author writes. So far sooooo good!!!

I just got the 3rd book in the Cindy Woodsmall series. The first two were excellent. I have to admit, I always read the last few pages of every book I get, so I know how it turns out. Can't wait to read it to see how it happens.

Sheryl-lyn, You're funny reading the last pages of your books! I guess I like the mystery of not knowing what's going to happen..... I need to order the second book in this series because I am just loving the first book!!

Guess what!! I was able to order an omnibus by Beverly Lewis through a Dutch Christian site.
It is the book with "The Postcard" and it's other 2 books in it, so a total of 3 books. I only had to pay some 9 dollars for it and NO P&P and it is in English too!!
YAY!!

I received it the day before yesterday and it is SO good!!

Has anyone read that one yet??

Hugs from Marian/Dutchy, a farmgirl from the Netherlands :)

Sheryl-lyn, I know one of my friends does that same thing. She will read the last couple of pages then start the book. Oh well, whatever makes us happy, right? LOL
I will finish the first book by Cindy Woodsmall tonight. It has been a book I have been unable to put down. I just ordered a used copy of the second one from Amazon. All I can say so far is WOW. The book has been non-stop, one thing after another ever since I started reading it! It's just great. I wonder if the other Amish books by the other authors are just as good?

I just finished White Christmas Pie which another Amish book. It was certainly cute and worth a few nights' time. Not as good as the Woodsmall books (the story in Christmas Pie was pretty predictable) but still fun.

Dear Sheryl-lyn and Amanda, I finished the first book in the series by Cindy Woodsmall last night. I am waiting on my second book to arrive in the mail because I can't WAIT to find out what happens to Hannah! What a good book! There was always something happening, that's for sure. It was just a great read. I am wondering now if the books by Beverly Lewis and Wanda Brunstetter are just as good? I did enjoy White Christmas Pie, too, Sheryl-lyn. It was light reading and fun but I liked this one by Cindy Woodsmall a lot better. I'm definitely making the pie when Christmas rolls around this year!

Hi Amanda, you were right about the Cindy Woodsmall book. It was great. I think after her series I will read some of Wanda's books. Thanks for your recommendations! I visited Cindy Woodsmall's website and signed up to receive her Amish newsletter. It comes out four times I year and I love to read about the Amish.

I love and have read all of Beverly Lewis' books. I am just finishing her most recent "The Longing"- I have read and re-read most of hers. But I'm going to start looking for some of the other authors mentioned here and start reading those series. Thanks for all of the recommendations.

I have read most of Beverly Lewis' books, and I love them. I hope you enjoy your trip to Lancaster. I have always wanted to visit. Do you have any recommendations on places to eat, shop, see, or do?

I have read by all 3 authors and like them all. Kim Vogel Sawyer has the Sommerfeld Trilogy I am reading right now, it is great. I like her books as well.
If you are a member of Barnes and Noble you get 10% off in store and oneline. Online books are often cheaper. If your order is $25 or more shipping is free. Also Christian Book Distributors has good prices as well. Their membership is $5 a year I think.
Enjoy!!

I love all those authors and was just going to mention Kim Vogel Sawyer's books when i got to the last post. lol She's very good too.

Another great series is by Laurine Snelling's Red River of the North Series. It is awesome! so are the rest of her books.

I hope it was ok to add the extra info. I know the topic was Amish books, but i just couldn't resist.

Also, Beverly Lewis's Summer Hill series was very good. Its a teen Amish series, but i loved it.

Just finished the Sommerfeld Tilogy and it was GREAT! Now on to another book :-) The Return to Red River Series by Lauraine Snelling is good as well.
Going to start on Sisters of the Quilt Series by Cindy Woodsmall now!
