Has anyone read any of the fiction books about the Amish? I see them all the time in the bookstores and Walmart and was wondering if anyone had any favorites of these books? Thank you!

I love love love Cindy Woodsmall, she has a trilogy out right now that is really good. Also I really enjoy Wanda Brunstetter. You should pick one up, rent one from the library to make sure, but if you enjoy reading hearwarming stories I think you will like these.

Another great source for Amish books and info is Wanda Brunstetter. She is a very sweet lady and was raised in Ohio Amish country.
Check out her web site for a list of all her books as well as extensive information on visiting Amish communities across the USA. www.wandabrunstetter.com

I have read all of them I have found...they are nice calm easy reads...always pretty good. The ones by Karen Harper are murder mysteries set in Amish country..and are really good too (Dark Angel and Dark Road home are two of a series of 3) I like all the authors mentioned above.

Okay. Thanks to all you farmgirls for the great ideas. I am going to Amazon and start ordering. I should visit the websites of the authors to see the orders of the series first though. I have always been fascinated by the Amish too, Dutchy. I live in Maryland and I occasionally visit the nearby Amish markets. I have also been to Lancaster a few times. I can't wait to get started with some of the books now!! Thanks so much!

Carol, the last time (and the first time ever, lol) I visited the USA (Maryland too !!) I also went to Lancaster and surrounding areas! It was so interesting to see. Loved it. BTW I stayed in Baltimore, MD for the most part of my month stay. And from there we traveled to many other States :)

I saw a book by Wanda Brunstetter called White Christmas Pie and ordered it, since it is that time of the year! So I can't wait to get it and start reading it. Gosh both those writers have written a lot of Amish books.
Dutchy, how cool that you were here! I am going to plan a trip to Lancaster in the spring. Maybe you can meet me there!!

I have read books by all of the authors listed and enjoyed them as light, easy reads.(OK, the Harper books were mysteries, so not exactly "light" reading...) Always pleasant. Our library system has many of them. Sharon

Okay everyone, I just finished reading White Christmas Pie by Wanda Brunstetter (hope I spelled it correctly) and it was soooooo good! I really enjoyed it and recommend it. Next Christmas I'm baking the pie! And I ordered a book by Cindy Woodsmall, the first in her series. I can't wait to receive it and start reading it!

I just finished the second Cindy Woodsmall book. Loved it. Cannot wait to read the 3rd. My husband put White Christmas Pie in my Christmas Stocking! Will probably start that one today. I was so happy to see that she has written so many books. That means I will have many good reading days to come.

And Sheryl-lyn, you'll love White Christmas Pie!! It was soooo good! I love it that I have discovered a whole new set of books to read, and enjoy everyone's comments and reviews!
