My, what a brave little horse! I'm so glad there are people who look beyond the problem to reveal the possibilities. This horse is an inspiration. Thank you for sharing.

What an INSPIRATION Molly is! (and a beautiful girl to boot!) So many people are quick to "throw away" animals that are less than perfect. (makes you wonder if they would do the same with people as well). Personally, my heart goes out to them. I have a few critters with special needs myself-- a nearly blind 1 1/2yr old Chihuhua, a crippled 2 1/2 mo old kitten who wears diapers and has a leg wound that requires daily care. I also have an 18yr old "rescue" horse with "String Halt." (she can't totally extend one back leg-- and when she tries it kind of "Snaps" back-- caused from a muscle injury sometime in her past)

Those animals are such a joy to me!! Sure I love all my "normal" animals, but there is something so special about those 3. All three have the sweetest personalities. None of them know that they are "different." Marley (the chihuahua) is the happiest little dog, though she gets a little scared when it starts to get dark if we are outside. I usually have to track her down and carry her back to the house if we've gone any distance on the property.

Lt. Dan, the kitten, has quite a personality and is the fasted thing on "two legs." He keeps up pretty well with his new kitten companion-- except when his britches get hung up on something. But that doesn't stop him for long! He wiggles himself loose-- then he's off like a shot!

Sierra the horse has scars on her body (in addition to the String Halt) that testify to a hard life. Whether it was due to deliberate mistreatment, or just plain negligence, I do not know, but her personality seems not to have been affected by it. She is so sweet and so calm and quiet. She knows she's safe here and gets the love, affection and ALL the food she can stand! And she's actually THANKFUL for it!

I'm so glad that Molly has an owner who loves and understands her and is helping others by telling her inspiring story-- AND taking her out for "meet and greets." How wonderful is THAT? Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story Kelly. I'll certainly be passing it along.
