I posted last week that he had been in the hospital in SD. I got him home and just walking from one end of the house to the other would just do him in.
So finally, last Monday I took Mr. Tuff Guy to the doc, Xrays were taken and the pneumonia was confirmed.
Since we still have to have money coming in, I parked him at his mom's and made a run to Seattle. I'm on my way back now and am going to take the wknd off and then back to the Doc on Monday and we'll see where he is.
He's taking a mega pill once a day that costs a fortune but seems to be worth it. Also, he's taking vicodin (sp?) and feeling no pain!
So it's scared him and me enuf that my mandate of slowing down on his smoking is finally sinking in!
Winona -- So sorry your husband is ill. My husband was ill in March -- he got the flu and then kinda a bronchial thing where he couldn't catch his breath -- and it scared him into quitting cigarettes. He is using Nicorette gum to quit and for the first time in 35 years he isn't smoking. Hope your husband will listen to you and maybe he can quit smoking now as well.
Winona, hope your hubby recovers soon. I have no room to talk, but I'm cheering him on in his effort to quit smoking. It's an extremely difficult thing to do.

Hoping your hubby gets better soon I had the walking kind when I was in middle school it takes a lot out of a person. Hope he quits smoking When I was so sick about 3 weeks ago; hubby got sick too only not quite as bad. He quit smoking then and hasn't had any since He quit for almost 2 years one time and then went back. Hope he will stick with it. Pinkroses

I hope your husband does quit, I know harping doesn't help. My husband quit smoking just before he had a stroke, and after the stroke 6 months later he had a heart attack and needed a quad bypass and the Dr's said it was a good thing he quit smoking when he did.. He was only 50 at the time.. He is very happy he quit and says he doesnt know why he smoked so long. it just happened one day he said These things really do not taste that good and Threw them away. I am very proud of him for doing this. He still loves the smell of fresh cigarettes and yet says he could never start it up again. That was 6 years ago!
