Stephanie, you are so creative! I think I may give up and get one of those frames too. My work keeps getting loose. I also need a strip cutter....
Monica and Bonne, you two are so much fun...but really...are you kin?
I think I am going to try to hook a tea cozy, and line it with felt. I think I will put a sheep with a heart on it. I can see it in my head, need to get it on paper and then get to work on it. It is staying cold here and hot tea is our drink of choice of an evening but hot coffee still rules in the A.M.
Happy Hooking

Sarita, let me know if you want the website where my frame came from..she will also just sell the gripper frames without the stands but you have to ask her since she doesn't say so on her website. These grippers are amazing...after fighting with that regular hoop while waiting for this frame I will never use a regular hoop again. Maybe a larger round wood frame would cooperate better..don't know.

Oh good, go for it on the sheep tea cozy..post some in progress pictures on your blog!

Bonne's checking in and seeing this topic updated and going "NO, NO, NO" LMAO Come on Bonne it's time....see you can spin all that wonderful wool nice and chunky and hook with it!!! Or just use the straight roving...

Sarita, I thought I e-mailed you! I did for real this time! As far as I know Bonne and I are not kin, but we are connected somehow! I did about 30 yards of wool yesterday and I started on some merino that I am going to ply!

Steph, the heart looks really cool!

Kim, the rug is very pretty. I also enjoyed your other crafts. You will need to set up an Etsy account to sell all your neat crafts.

Kimberly, while signed in and viewing your actual blog..look to the top right of your blog and you'll see "customize"..click on that and you'll see several headings of options...

click on "Layout" and then you'll see a window open that has many "gadgets" that you can add...you can add a "LINK" list...be sure to name it..then when you look at your blog in the layout mode you'll see your new gadget. you can click on that anytime you want to add someone new..it gives you a spot to type in or paste in the web address and also a line to give it a name so something shows up other than the web address when viewing the blog..

There are lots of gadgets you can add....you'll just have to play with it to experiment..if you get hung up just post here and I'll help you. :0)

I love your rug! And there's not much fraying that shows..that's what was concerning me..and I guess you could even cut the fabric on the bias so you wouldn't get any fraying. I love all of your prim stuff...I want to hook a crow design! Anyhow, glad you've joined us..see you soon.

Also, you can dress up blogs by clicking on the link that's on the left side of my blog. I just found it after a year of using Blogspots limited designs. Get used to messing with Blogspot stuff first though. Can I add you to my fav's , Kim? I love your style. You're one of those "it comes naturally" crafters. ;)

Yeah There is some fraying of fabric but I did exactly what the directions told me to do in reference to cutting the fabric. I dont know what will happen after its washed but hey its my first rug so next time I will cut on the bias and hopefully it wont fray. My mother in law will love it frays and all. I am glad I did this for my first one cause hopefully the next one will be even better! with no fraying :) Yes I am going to make one with crows! That is my next challenge! and that will be for myself! I always make stuff for others but not for me and its about time I do!

Welcome Kim!! I loved your blog!!
I have sold some of my rugs in the past...but havn't tried in awhile. I sold them through a little gift shop in a beach town in Calif for a couple years..but it isn't in business any longer. It was fun though! She got better prices for me than I would have asked for myself.

Hey Kimberly,

I checked out madeitmyself.com...another up and coming Etsy type platform...it should do well..Etsy needs some good competition and it's become so flooded with certain items.. I'd love to have a selling site like Etsy but it would be run like a juried show so that everyone is unique and the area not flooded with too much of the same stuff.

I like the frayed edges of the cotton...I've got some silk cut on the crossgrain that will ravel. I'm going to try it and see how it looks.

Yes, please add me to your favorites..I've added you to mine.

So Jenny, you working on any rug hooking now?
