Hey, look what I did.......I went to www.TickerFactory.com and set up a weightloss ticker. I wanted to lose 10 pounds by Christmas but since traveling tacked another 8 on, I thought I needed a toy for extra motivation!

I'm back to my daily exercise and walking routine too! Last year I lost 15 pounds through the winter. For some odd reason I usually lose weight when it's cold. I wish I could figure out a way to keep it off all year long. Especially during the shorts & swimsuit seasons.

Amy Grace--that is awesome for you!! I am trying to replace my eating too! Especially at work..theres so much junk to get into. I have to leave all money in the car, but take something good for me for lunch! I started chewing a lot of gum!!

Changing routines is hard, but it become a habit after awhile!

I used to use a food diary--I like to write things down. And it did help to see what I was eating instead of remembering what I ate! I think I might try that again!

Dawn, great job getting back on the exercise wagon. You're probably the first person I know of that loses weight in the winter and gains in the summer! Do you get outside much in the summertime or are you "allergic" to heat like me? If so, maybe you move more in the winter because you're more comfortable and not so much in the summertime. Me, I'm a slug year 'round. At least I was but I'm turning over a new leaf. Didja hear it? It wasn't very loud - just a little rustle. Give it time though - it will get louder!

Marcy, I'm so proud of you for keeping a food diary. It really does help to realize what you're eating when it's in front of you in black and white. I hate hand-writing so much that my diary mostly consists of circles that I fill in and just write the bare minimum. Even at that I still have trouble keeping up! I think I need to find a home for it - maybe on the frig (hah!). Right now it's on the island and keeps getting covered up. Maybe it's psychological..........

Hey, I am back... Sort of, I am not home but managed to find a computer. I think for me the excersise is the hardest. I feel like I am running all day, so to schedule a run... always is the last thing I wanna do. But I am getting better at it. I find that making time earlier in my schedule really helps me.

Quick check in for me tonight. Just wanted to share that I lost, er, released another pound. That makes four! And I exercised yesterday - stretches and arm exercises with weights. Today was supposed to be stretches and leg exercises but that didn't happen. It will tomorrow!

Rene, thanks for loving us enough to search out a computer and post. You're the best! I've found that when I exercise first thing in the morning, the whole rest of the day goes better. I don't know if it's a physical response from the workout or a psychological one because I don't have to spend the rest of the day thinking, "I need to exercise." Maybe it's a little of both, ya think?

Thanks, Marcy! We had a Thanksgiving dinner at church Sunday evening and even though I didn't fill my plate nearly as full as usual, I still couldn't finish everything. And two pounds came back to haunt me. I've lost one of them already and hopefully will take the other one off by the time Thanksgiving Day gets here. At least I've learned how much I can comfortably handle so I won't be porking out that day!

Enjoy your time off! At least it will help keep the stress (and eating?) down during the hectic holiday season!

God bless -

P.S. How's the exercise going? No you have time in your schedule for it!

I am finding that using the smaller plate is a helpful tool as is the visual of 80/20 keeping 80% of my plate salad and veggies and 20% cooked meats and grains, helps... I am 11 pounds down since I began...........YEA!

No you have time for it? That sounds like I'm scolding you! I meant: NOW you have time for it. Oh my, I think I'll quit before my fingers get me in more trouble.

How is everyone doing? I have been watching portion control and I think I have lost of weight this week. My jeans are fitting a bit better, but I am not going to weigh in until Monday morning when I am home again
