Cool beans Monica! Are you having fun? What kind is it? I love to learn the "models". It reminds me of a Fricke but has the bobbin if a Majacraft. I'm so happy for you...enjoy! Thanks for sharing the pic.

How great for you! I'm still needing a wheel. Maybe for my birthday.

That's wonderful.

I dream of learning to spin someday. One thing at a time, though.

Stepanie, You will have to let me know what color you like and as soon as I have a little $$, I will get some superwash and spin some! They have a bunch of colors at www.thesheepshedstudio.com/NewSuperpage.html I still can't believe I actually got it! I am so excited !!!!!!!

Molly and Teresa Sue, you ought to check out drop spindles! They are easy to use and much less expensive to start with! That is what I started with and now I am making my own spindles! I will warn you though spinning is very addictive! It is so great because it is so relaxing! It is almost meditative!

Congrats on the wheel! I've got a Kromski wheel myself that's sadly been collecting dust in the corner lately. I'm a very beginner spinner.

It's a stick with a "top" (spinning type) on it that you tie a piece of roving to and let drop down and spin to make yarn. Very simple contraption and works well, though slower (for me anyhow) than a spinning wheel. Very portable though! And they are cute.

Jami, That's the cool thing about them, is that they are portable! I always have mine with me when I go out so if I ever have to sit and wait, I have some thing to do!

I told my hubby that if I were ever stranded out in the woods and could locate something to spin, with my trusty knife,
I could fashion a spindle and a crochet hook and at least make clothing. LOL Yes, spindles are quite primitive, so are crochet hooks and knitting needles. That's the charm of them, isn't it?

Hey Connie, I have been thnking of you......

All healed up?? Did the package arrive - it seems like a lifetime but my life is a blurr someday, O.K. most days...

Hugs to you - we had snow last night - no power and winds 60 miles an hour and I thought of you - see I would make a great Alaskian gal because I sat by candle light and spun.. No need for power for this gal.. Miss you.. and hop all is well

hi grace, i emailed you as soon as i recieved the package! you must not have gotten it *sigh* leave it to yahell. it was so much fun to open and find all the goodies! i am pretty well healed up but we had to take a fast trip to michigan for my brother in laws funeral dp needless to say i am totally wiped out! we didnt have the $$ to let our son come with us so he stayed and literally kept the home fires burning. and took care of the animals. if, heaven forbid, you ever need a bereavement flight northwest airlines is wonderful! they took over half the cost of the fare off and were aboslutely wonderful!
i know you would make a great alaskan! i hope someday that is more than a dream! we dont usually have 60 mph winds especially when its snowing but lose power a lot because of trees that spontaniously fall and lousy wiring lol. spinning by candle light sounds so soothing. i think i will try it!
