Apple crisp is always a big hit(at my restaurant) I have noticed! With or without the crust... especially with berries...lately I have been making apple cranberry crisp for Fall. |

I make apple pie and apple crisp. I make my pies and freeze them unbaked for that fresh homemeade apple pie smell and taste in the dead of winter.
I made 6 crisps today , and froze them. I'll have to make my pies another day when I have more time.
The apples were small this year and I feel like I end up composting most of it...the core and peel. Argh! Too much rain ad not enough sun shine, I think.

Wow, I like the idea of making the desserts now and freezing, I've never tried that. I'm having a "mental health day" today to do what I want, and that is to finish up my apples and then do some quilting, I think I'll try this. What kind of dishes do you freeze them in? |

Apple sauce, apple pie filling (looking for a good recipe, hint, hint), and I found a recipe for an apple & tomato chutney that i still have to try.

Apple pie, baked apple donuts, apple oatmeal cake with Mascarpone maple cream, apple filled acorn squash, applesauce, and any other recipe I can find that calls for apples! I love the smell of apples and cinnamon baking in the oven!
