How on earth do you sew a flat fell seam? I've looked at pictures and instructions on making them, but can't figure it out. Does anyone have suggestions?

That is a very helpful tutorial. So it is basically a french seam that has the other side of the seam sewn flat. I get it now!

This was a great link! I'm trying to make a jean skirt out of a pair of old jeans, and this will make the front and back seams look like a "real" jeans seam. Awesome! Thanks!

Is that how you spell and pronounce "that" seam? I have always thought it was flat felt. It is flat fell? I guess I have never seen it written down.

Whenever I see French seams it makes me think of the prom dress that my mom and I made when I was in high school. It was a brocade fabric that raveled terribly. My mom made me hand sew French seams. By the time I got done I haad the technique down pat! Thanks so much for sharing the tutorial - I didn't know how to do a flat fell seam.
