Hi Kim - unless you use a melt and pour base for your soap you will have to use lye to make soap. Melt and pour is as simple as cutting the base into chunks, melting slowly either in the microwave or in a double boiler, adding scent and colorant, and pouring into molds. I scent my m & p at about 1 tbsp for every 2 lbs of soap. Go to www.teachsoap.com and there are some good tutorials for making melt and pour soap. You can purchase an awesome all natural base at Old Kentucky Candle.

Look up Kathy Miller's website. She has soap making recipes and tutorials.

I woke up on January 1st and it was 2009.
And it's been that way ever since!

Definately look up Kathy Miller's website. She is the woman who I looked to for advice before we started our own soap company. She is very very nice and really knows her stuff!

Also, you can't make soap unless you use LYE...that's a given.
