Yes Annika I can tell and I am sure they love you back. Where are you going to put them in storage ?
Cluttering has such huge rewards. Are you having a real tree ?

Hi ladies!

I just got home from getting Doug from work and having a family dinner. I have to dash off soon to do some homework.

Brenda- It sounds like your dough didn't rise enough for your bread- either that or it rose too much and didn't have enough left over for the baking. Did you bread taste really yeasty? How long did you let it rise for? Was your kitchen warm enough?

I love making bread. Doug took sandwiches to work today with the last of the store-bought bread. It looked fine, but he said they tasted moldy. Ick. Gross. So tomorrow I am baking some bread for sandwiches.

Anyone use an electric knife to slice bread?

Annika about recipe, have you ever tried Guyava syrup ? it has a low glycemic index and not alike splenda and other doens't activate the insuline the same way in our bodies. The taste is mild too.

I want to buy a tree that I can then plant outside in the spring, but I don't know if I can afford one, they are quite spendy... I love the balsam firs the best.

Balsam fir are my favorite too with blue spruce. That is a great idea Annika, I do have an artificial tree for the very reason that I do not want anymore to have a tree for pleasure and putting it into the garbage after a couple of weeks. I sure miss the smell and the touch and the real magic of a real tree. It is my dream to have one close to our door outisde and decorate it every year. The old white feather tree looks so nice too, when I am back to Canada, I might indulge in one.
What sort of decorations do you put up ?
Hey Alee, how are you doing ?

Oh Corinne, I think I would describe my style as shabby chic meets international . I have things from everywhere! I have collected things for years and my decorating changes year by year...lots of candles around the house, and cut bits of greenery. I love Christmas decorating, what a beautiful season it is.

Acidity huh? Hmmm... I have never been allergic to tomatoes before, but lately it seems that when I eat something with a tomato based sauce (spaghetti or pizza) I do get a headache, but it is not always from that though.

Corinne, I have never heard of that syrup either. Is it sort of like Agave Nectar? I have hypoglycemia and could really use a natural sugar substitute. I will look it up. Where do you get yours?

Alee: It has been so long ago, that I don't remember why the bread didn't turn out. I was using spelt flour. I remember that the lady told me not to over work the spelt or it would be tough. It tasted too doughy, maybe it was too much flour? If I ever get the hang of it, I will never go back to store bought bread that is for sure.

I need to find some benadryl. Ugh... that puts me out like a light. It is 10:21 pm here, so I will say good night to all of you for now. Once that benadryl kicks in everything will be a blur anyway and you all will think that I have lost my marbles, LOL!!!

I am so glad to have had the chance to chat for a while. :o)

I love the darker reds myself, and not the true red tones, which I find too bold or something. So I am going for a white and cranberry type colour theme. I like the darker greens too. I will get pics when I have everything decorated.
You are welcome for the recipes.

Brenda- If you are looking to get a light fluffy texture, you have to go easy on the alternative flours like spelt. You should try it again and just use the basic ingredients! :D

Well ladies! I am going to bed! Just finished taking an exam and I am about to fall asleep on the couch!

Good Morning everyone/ Good night Corinne.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Corinne, hope you get good rest tonight.

Alee, I have the first recipe book, but since there was talk of recipes I thought I'd see if anyone else had the opportunity to get it.

Corinne,
We don't do much decorating at the store. We just put out merchandise for Christmas. i have been gathering tidbits here and there getting ready for Christmas. With money tight this year not sure just how things will work out for the holidays. Though I am working a lot so maybe that will help.
Annika,
I too love books, they are all around my house in different areas depending on their subject.

Well, must off to the shower and get some things done before I head to work, Only two days off this week but I'm definitely looking forward to them.

Good morning Mavens, hope you had sweet dreams and feel all rested and new for the day ahead of you.
Denise, I have made most of my gifts this year because of the money issue.
Do you play Christmas music in the store ? I enjoy it so much even when I used to go shopping a lot of the stores had the same ones on, I always have sang along.
Hey Karen, hope you have a short line up ahead of you.
Teresa Sue have a peacefull day. Do you still have feafs to rack up ?

I do Corinne, if I had just one more beautiful day I could get them all done, but, we are supposed to have the rain/snow move in any minute. Oh well, what can you do? I will end up raking leafs in the spring. At this point I just want to be done so I can concentrate on my home, holidays, and quilting,:^)

Teresa Sue you've mentioned the Grandma flower garden, that is a difficult pattern, please post picture when you can, I would like to see your quilt. And doing it because that your DH favorite is nice of you to say the least.
I saw the weathercast and thought you ladies from Washington and Idaho might have a few flurries. then, if you cam stay home with nice musicm a jug of hot chocolate and quilt or read your day away.

Oh, Corinne that sounds fabu. But, I'm now off to cook at the local cafe until 11AM. But those cozy days are just around the corner. Have a good nights rest dear friend.
The grandmothers flower garden isn't too bad if you hand piece it, it's almost impossible I think on the machine.
