Hi Mavens, just checking in, back from work and the chiro. Denise, yes you do have to complete all the requirments in the beginner portion to actually earn the badge. But really it's all very doable. I hope you really consider doing it with us. :^) I have started my seed sprouting. It seems to be taking foreverrrrrrrr tho. My house is heated with wood heat, so it isn't evenly warm throughout, so my sprouts are cold I think, haha. Annika, try sprouting the radish seed if you want some spicy. I swear I'm eating so many leafy green things, I'm going to turn into one. The chiro said it's a good way to get calcium without the fat from dairy products and you can't overheat on them, it's impossable. Bleh, I mean Baa.

Well part of it is the journaling. I'm sure we will have to replicate our journals in the area where you apply for the badge. you can also take pictures and send them in when you apply for the badges. I don't have a digetal camera, so I took pic on a disposable camera and as soon as I fill it up I'll develop the pics and send copies into Sunny. Although they have given me my badges without pics. Go to the badge area and read them, that will give you an idea. Gotta go make din din for DH.

If not, oh well, I am NOT repeating it... dont think I could anyhow. Wanted to let you know that ya'll have "ruined" me. I went grocery shopping and came out with.....nothing. I spent 2 hours reading lables and calling Karen (who didnt answer HER PHONE!!) . Ugh. I am going to die of starvation. Um....am I supposed to be sprouting something? Crap. I give up! Too many irons the fire!! Need to read today.....see ya later mavens!

TS~ You dont have to sumbit photos with your badge application (although it is always fun to get that visual).
I might also add, that applying for the badges is such an awesome way to have a "record" of all the things we are actually accomplishing. Once you "get into it" it is amazing that it is all things we are already doing, we just took the time to write it down and submit it.

Good morning, mavens! Good night, Corinne (you're probably having sweet dreams by now)!
I'll be in and out of the DOE and coop today as I'm a bit under the weather. Is there such a thing as Sympathetic Maven Illness? First Dawn was sick, then Annika, now I'm having a stomach-thing going on. Been riding the porcelain bus since early this morning (so weirdly excited that I get to use Annika's expression).
Going to the henhouse now as I'm not sure how long my body will let me sit here..............

Yea, and I forgot Brenda was suffering from SMI this week too. PUNY, PUNY, PUNY we are! The rest of you, drink that orange juice, eat that chicken soup and get plenty of rest. Technology is a wonderful thing but when you can catch a bug through the lines, that's going a little too far. They need some debugging software to catch those bugs!

I was thinking, I recall Corinne saying that she had had a wobbly belly too...I think. We have the internet flu! Darnit! We are a puny lot! When I feel a bit better I'll climb back on my soap box and rant some more about AVM and all that!

Denise, hope I didn't send any yucky tummy vibes your way. I think most of mine is the leftover travel stress. I'm doing much better this morning and will fell even better after a shower.
To the rest of y'all, where were you yesterday? Not much posting going on. I guess we all needed a day of rest, eh?
Good night, Corinne (are you under the weather - and what does that expression mean anyways - or swamped with bazaar - or is it bizarre by now - stuff?).............Good mornin', Ralph (enjoy the new grocery world!)..............

Yea, I'm beginning to know what it feels like not having anything to eat. The labels scare ya to death just reading them, let alone eating the stuff. When I was at the organic store yesterday I was looking for just plain old all purpose flour. All they had was flour from hard red winter wheat, great for bread, but I wanted it for cookies. They had King Arthur flour, ten pounds for over $10!!!! I about fainted. I've decided I'm really going to have to make meal plans and stick with them because of the expense. The ultimate goal has got to be to get settled on our place and then grow as much as possible, that will be the only way to be able to afford it. I'm going to get a grain mill. BTW, Good morning/evening all. Tina Michelle, why are you moving to central Florida? Job move? Just being nosey,;^) So, what is everyone doing on the weekend?

Yes, I am Rene. My plans are a bit different. My granddaughter's soccer game is at noon instead of two, so I'll have to leave at 11:30, but I can come to Rosalia earlier. What time does this whingding commence?

Well Mavens, I need to go get ready to go to the cemetery. I have a cemetery commitee meeting today, going to go over some landscaping issues. Then I'm going to clean house, so I'll check in with y'all later.

Hey gals! Sorry I've been MIA a bit lately....o.k. Teresa Sue..we are moving to Ocala because we decided that since our parents are getting older and because I have recently lost 2 family members (3 yrs ago)..that it is best to be close to family when they are getting older and may need us at some point..as it is we live 8 hrs drive away from my mom and 5 hrs drive away from my husband's parents..this move will put us in the same town as my in-laws and only about 3 hrs drive from my mom and sisters. So...there ya have it:0) ---------------- oh gals!!! If you have not ordered the D. Landreth Seed Company Catalog..please do! It is filled with gorgeous illustrations and looks more like an art book... and there is terrific info about the various bulbs featured. (heirloom garlic and flower bulbs) trust me... you'll want to get a copy..hubby saw the catalog and said.."you gotta keep that one..that's nice!"and the cool thing..they've been in business for 224 years. wow! ---------------------------- hope you all have a great day! I have to run some errands today and then hopefully have time to swing by the antique shop I'm wanting to go to today. have a fun day..and those of you that have felt puny..well..get better soon! we can't have ya'll being puny-fied!;0)

Good night, mavens - I haven't posted much today, just a little here and there. Still recouping, I guess. Sleep well and we'll chat tomorrow.
Good morning, Corinne - today's the big bazaar day! Keeping you and the bazaar team in my prayers and that those warm fuzzy creatures reap a big benefit from it.
Good night, Ralph.....................

TS, Just so you know you can buy soft white wheat which is used for pastries. I grind my own hard red winter for bread and soft white. Anyone else grind their own? Oh I am getting ready to go delve into the world of AVM. I know I'll be behind but can't wait to get started.
