Hey Karen, went to bed past 1 am last night, dunno why.
Thanks for asking about the bazaar. things are doing really well at the moment, all the items are done and ironed, we only have to price them and put the labels, gather enough bags for the shopping ladies to have something to carries their goods into, and early next week, we will arrange the basement, set the table up and get going. Saturday 25 th will be our big day.
We had a lot of free advertising all over Kuwait, so I am hoping they will like our items and the cookies and candies on the baking table.
When are you coming back home ?
Are you enjoying a bit of sightseeing or are you bound in your hotel room ?
And what's on your plate when you go back ? Will Robbie has to spend some time home ?
wishing you a few hours of peaceful sleep before your day starts.
Huuuuggggssss

The success of the bazaar will be on my prayer list. It sounds like everything is going really well. And free advertising all over Kuwait - what a gift!

We'll probably be back home next Monday. No sight-seeing going on right now as Robbie can't sit comfortably yet. Walk, yes. Lie down, yes. Sit, not so much. We have plans to visit his aunt and uncle Thursday through Saturday and then leisurely drive home. We may need to stay here another day or so due to the sitting issue. Yes, he'll have another week off after this one, returning to work on the 28th. If he feels up to it, we'll get some minor things done around the house and in the garden. Otherwise it will give us a lot of time to plan for next year's garden! Maybe I'll have some seed catalogs waiting for me when we get home.

I think I'm actually getting tired again so I'm going to do a quick check around the henhouse and such and then to bed with me. I'm so glad you were up to talk to and what a blessing to see the post from Denise. Another maven!

'Night, Corinne!

God bless -

Good morning, mavens!!

I think everyone is busy this morning. Yesterday I picked up AVM on cd so I can listen to it in the car while I am out. I have started my food journal~it is hard to read the labels because then you see just how many things are in these products that you wish there wasn't

Denise~Welcome to the group!! The newsletter is a great place to start. It will help answer so many questions.

Corrine~I will be praying for your craft show. I hope all goes well. I would love to meet you in person someday if we get to visit Shebrooke.

My dear mavens I have a request~As you know the banks are all in a shambles, not only in the US but all over the world. My husband works for Citizens Bank here. He has worked for them for almost 16 years. They are owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland and they had a meeting yesterday to let the management know that the Royal Bank has a new president and he may be looking into selling off some of the Royal Bank's holdings. This could be Citizens which will leave my husband possibly without a job. I am sorry to make this so long but if you could keep this in your prayers. We are a one income family and this would be very difficult.

Oh Ruth! I know your situation very well. Living it right now as a matter of fact. Hubby lost his job back in April of this year and we too are a one income family. He is a carpenter and has thankfully picked up an odd job here and there, but mostly has been going to school to gain new skills. I will certainly keep your family in my prayers.

Good Morning Everyone- I finally get my computer back! Youngest son bought a new computer game and it wont fit on their computer so it was loaded onto mine. For the last few days I haven't been able to get into my office-teenagers everywhere!!! Sure enough there was a break and I stopped by the bathroom on my way to my computer, by the time I got there my nephew had kiped the computer!!! I was going to post in the henhouse on AVM and didn't make it because of this situation, so I hope to make it there later today to post.

I just treated myself to a membership to SSE!! Things are tight and I usually don't do things like this but, I had saved up enough egg money. I knew those chickens would pay off.

Dawn if #6 hasn't been taken, I'll take it. Gotta run- I have eggs to deliver so I can start adding to my stash again. CBL.

Corinne, I too have my prayers for the bazaar. Praying that people are generous and kind. I hope that you have a restful and good night. I will need your address for the Christmas card exchange when you have time. I am always losing addresses, I must get a real live address book and put everyone down in ink so that I have it in a hard copy

Okay, I'm posting and then I'm gonna finish reading the rest. I think there is confusion about the Christmas thing. You pick a number. That does not necessarily mean that you trade gifts with that person. For instance. Karen has Annika, but no one has Karen yet (now someone does...). If all 14 of us choose a different number everyone should be covered. I have a master list on my person so I am not confused.

Brenda: you have NUMBER 2. Which is Karen.

The numbers left are:
1-3-5- -8-9-11-12-14

I will take whatever number is left. Does this make any sense?

So here's my list:
Sorry if i blow the secret.....
Annika is giving to Ruth
Corrine is giving to AmyGrace
Karen is giving to Annika
Ruth is giving to Rene
Brenda is giving to Karen
Lillian is giving to Marcy Jo

Are we good?

Denise: what a great day it's turned out to be! You are most welcome here, and in the "coop". I am really pleased to meet you! Chime in, tell us a bit about yourself and lets collect some heirloom seed!
We are hosting a MAven Christmas. Would you like to participate? Its very economical. Pick a number (see my above post) and let me know. Gifts have to do with gardening and have to be recycled, free-cycled or very easy on the budget. Please send them out by December 1. 2008!
remember to post your inof in the Member Bio section of the henhouse!

I think everyone might enjoy reading some positive news about saving seeds and the purity of them. I was just reading on the Seedsaver's Exchange newsletter about something they are doing. Here is the link.

Betty good news is never wasted, thank you for the articles...I might try the isolation tents in my own garden! That would be fun and help me produce good seeds for the seed exchange. Thank you !
